Dries, Gert and Danny
Father Dries is a descendant of a real pigeon family. After a football career with the local amateurs, Dries followed in the footsteps of his father Gerrit and three farmers, who were all ardent pigeon fanciers. Since 1983, Dries and his son Gert have formed a very strong combination. They enjoy racing the entire program and are extremely successful in doing so. From 2016, they have been continuously winning the general championship in their district. In 2015 Dries and Gert were in the spotlight winning a 1st and 2nd national in the marathon race Cahors. In 2020 they mainly show themselves as specialists in the one day long distance where they can be counted among the absolute top at national level. The job is done with pigeons from Petro van Strien (Raamsdonk, NL), Sjef de Kort (Oosterhout), André Vermeulen (Oosterhout) and do not forget Adriaan and Jaap Scheele (Terneuzen, NL). Danny, the son of Gert, increasingly gets involved in the debates with his father and grandfather. In addition, Danny, together with an uncle, races with pigeons in the yard of that uncle and is certainly not without merit.
Performances on the One Day Long Distance
In 2020, a nice follow-up was given to the strong game in the one day long distance. A total of 98 pigeons were basketed in four races, of which no fewer than 61 achieved the results.Particularly from Monlucon (16/20) and Issoudun (20/24), they went at it hard. The result from Issoudun, the only national race on the calendar, appealed the most to the imagination;
The strong performances in the one day long distance translated into achieving appealing championships. A concise overview;
D'n Adwin
There is a special story behind the successes of Dries, Gert and Danny de Hoogh. One of the breeders that makes the difference is NL15-3517104 D'n Adwin. He comes from a famous couple, D'n Biesmans x Klazientje, of Gert-Jan de Hoogh. For a youngster from that couple Danny had to show his football skills in a youth team of which Gert-Jan was the trainer. When things did not go well at first for the team, an upward trend was started when Danny was in the ranks and they eventually won the championship. A promise is a promise. Danny got his promised young bird from the top couple of Gert-Jan. And you guessed it, that was D'n Adwin. A top breeder to whom the combination owes a lot. Judge his breeding results for yourself.
We would like to introduce you to some of D'n Adwin's children.
Blauwe Piet
As a yearling D'n Adwin, was coupled to NL09-3920730 Andrea, and became father of NL16-3621913 Blauwe Piet. That blue cock turned out to be a phenomenon in the one day long distance;
De Gert
Another, very special son of D'n Adwin is NL17-3717422 De Gert. That blue cock shows the breeding potential of D'n Adwin with, among other things, an NPO victory. The mother of De Gert is NL13-3319369 who came into the lofts via Sjef de Kort. De Gert wins:
Naomi
With yet another hen, in this case NL13-3319324 Tonny (nestsister of Danny, 2e National Ace Pigeon Youngsters NPO 2013), where D'n Adwin became father of NL19-3913959 Naomi. That blue hen was only raced as a youngster. She won, among other things;
Top pigeon Leo
In a loft like that of Dries and his son Gert de Hoogh, they don't let their success depend on a single pigeon. What do you think of NL17-3717341 Leo. This topper wins in addition to a 1st La Souterraine against 809 pigeons a.o.;
Success in other lofts
The results achieved with pigeons from Dries and Gert de Hoogh are not limited to their own loft. The best proof of this are the NPO and national victories of the combination of Vugt-de Hoogh, of which Danny, together with his uncle Ad, is part.
Finally
Three generations of De Hoogh enjoy their common passion, the pigeon sport, on a daily basis. Dries and Gert take care of the pigeons in a modest but passionate way. Danny takes care of all other matters. Together they form a very strong combination. How beautiful the sport can be.
