78 members entered 229 pigeons into the British International Championship Club race from Barcelona, held in conjunction with the International. The following is a report on the provisional result based on members' verifications.
Mark Gilbert

First open and first centre section was won by Mark Gilbert of Windsor with a three year old on 684mpm over a distance of 717 miles. Mark's winner is called Southfield Gold Lady and was also 128th International. Southfield Gold Lady was the only bird to be clocked on day two of the race. It is a direct daughter of Golden Barcelona and a grand-daughter of Romee, two world class racing and breeding birds from the loft of the Dutch flyer Jelle Jellema. Mark clocked a second pigeon, another three year old on 441mpm to also take fifth open and fourth centre section. Mark's next timer was eighth open and sixth section on 393mpm.

The second open winner was sent sitting chipping eggs and was very happy to see her squeakers on her return. It has previously been 60th open Bordeaux as a yearling and 15th open Narbonne last season. The sire is a son of 80, first and fourth open Perpignan.
