Team BDS with Dirk Speybroeck, Dr. Piet Blancke and Bart Declerck
top class fanciers and top management
Team BDS has proven to be a well organised team in recent seasons; the three experienced fanciers have been working very well together, achieving great success in our sport.
Team BDS has a fancier with a medical background as well: Dr. Piet Blancke is one of Belgium's most consulted veterinary surgeons, and he knows more than anyone else how to get your racing team in excellent shape before the start of the season, or how to prepare them for the most important races. He knows how to get the most out of this breed.
Team BDS combines Piet Blancke's knowledge with the dedication and expertise of the two loft managers Dirk Speybroeck (who races the cocks as BDS/Speybroeck) and Bart Declerck (he races the hens as BDS/Declerck), and this team of three has been able to achieve great results in a short period of time. Every member has a number of responsibilities and specialties. They joined forces in 2011, and they have been winning many top prizes since. They agreed to focus on the national races of the longer middle distance and the light long distance (races of between 450 and 700km) from the very beginning.
A solid foundation
They have been winning many prizes both at provincial, zonal and national level, and not only in their own loft. Several other fanciers have obtained pigeons from Team BDS and have been doing great. Among them are such renowned fanciers as Martin De Poorter, Gevaert-Lannoo, Benny Steveninck, Gaby Vandenabeele, nad Rudi De Saer. The old bloodlines from the successful Cools-Blancke era continue to do wonders in this loft, especially the top class bloodlines of their stock pairs ‘Gaby 184/93 x Francoise 530/95’ (they are the parents of Aagje, the dam of the outstanding breeder Rudy BE06-3008003, and the parents of Bieke, the dam of Gaby Vandenabeele's Rambo II) and ‘Frans 137/95 x Alfoncine 182/94’. This pair has laid the foundation for the stock bloodline for Team BDS that consists of Aske-Fryda-Eline.

Confident in their top quality breed
The ability to win top prizes and to claim important victories is often an innate ability in top quality breeds. The fanciers that can breed several generations of such prize winners will be able to achieve long term success. This is no secret. In fact Dr. Piet Blancke gets visits from national champions almost every day. Team BDS relies on several generations of prize winners and champions as well, provided by the top class lines of Aske-Fryda, Eline and Sproete Blois. Their descendants have won many provincial and zonal first prizes in their home loft, but also in the lofts of other renowned fanciers (see earlier), where they have claimed victory at provincial, zonal, and even at national level.
The BDS racing team's impressive level of performance has led to quite a few provincial ace pigeon titles:

The hens go from Tielt to Meulebeke
A team of three passionate pigeon fanciers with a collection of highly talented pigeons can win top prizes at any time in the season. Next year Bart's team of hens (BDS/Declerck) will be transferred to Meulebeke, where they will be taking a fresh start with the hens of 2015 (including 2nd Prov. Ace Pigeon long distance KBDB West Fl.), which were already kept in Meulebeke, and the young birds of 2016. The challenge will be to try and match the results of the racing cocks (kept in Dirk's loft in Vinkt) and the long distance team (Piet; BDS/Blancke), and to show that Team BDS has a highly talented pigeon collection with great potential. This is something to look forward to!
