Gino Clicque (Wevelgem, BE) is the new emperor of West Flanders

In 2016 Gino Clicque managed to win the title of General Provincial Champion of West Flanders for the third consecutive season. as a result, he will be awarded the title of Emperor of West-Flanders on the provincial day of the KBDB on 6th of November.

There's no getting around it: Gino Clicque is one of the great champions in pigeon racing in Belgium. His palmares includes numerous overall top results, first prizes at provincial and national level, and provincial and national championship and ace pigeon titles. The 2016 season was no exception. In fact, the pigeons of Gino Clique have been winning first prizes week after week. The racing team closed the season with five provincial first prizes and most notably a 1st and 2nd National Agen YL 2016. Several championship titles will be added to Gino's palmares in the coming weeks as well.

General Champion KBDB West Flanders 2016

The KBDB West Flanders has just published the results of the provincial championships of 2016, and it turns out Gino Clicque has won the title of General Provincial Champion yet again, setting a new record. He won this title in 2014 and 2015 with a top result in four and five categories respectively, and he did even better in 2016, winning a top result in no less than eight different categories. This is a record breaking achievement. In fact, no less than 14 (!) different Gino Clicque pigeons have won a provincial ace pigeon title this season across the different disciplines. Sagan and Amanda win the title of 1st Provincial Ace Pigeon

Gino Clicque demands a lot from his racing team. His racing birds are judged by their results, not by their origins. All pigeons get plenty of opportunities to show what they are capable of but they have to have a few top prizes on their palmares if they want to make it through to the next season. This selection approach has enabled Gino to create an outstanding group of racing birds, and this pigeon breed has grown to become one of the top competitors in Belgium in the long distance.
The stars of this racing team developed into invaluable breeders later on as well, and the existing breed has been further reinforced with some top class bloodlines from other Belgian lofts as well. Gino has been able to raise the bar every single season, and this eventually led to a long list of provincial ace pigeon titles this season.
It takes a long list of achievements and a team of talented racing birds for a pigeon breed to really stand out from the others. The team of Gino Clicque consists of multiple first prize winners and ace pigeons at provincial and national level, and Gino has added two more provincial ace pigeons to his collection this season with Sagan and Amanda.

Based on her results Amanda could have won the title of 2nd Prov. Ace Pigeon longer middle distance behind her loft mate Sagan but the rules stipulate that a pigeon can win a title in only one category.
The fourteen provincial ace pigeons of 2016 are still kept in the lofts of Gino Clicque but will be sold in a PIPA auction in late February. This will be quite an interesting auction based on some of the most successful bloodlines of their generation.
