Many fanciers dream of winning a national championship title or national ace pigeon title one day. Well, Gino Clicque was able to win both prizes in 2018 alone! He did even better: he not only won the national championship yearlings in the extreme long distance, he also claimed a 1st and 2nd national ace pigeon title in this category.

Rockefeller put the icing on the cake after another brilliant season for Marc De Cock, winning perhaps the most difficult ace pigeon competition in Belgium: 1st National Ace Pigeon All-Round KBDB 2018. Marc got his DNA tested and Rockefeller has the rare gene combination LDHA AB DRD4 CTCC!

It is often said that a female fancier can do wonders with pigeons, and Annick Goeteyn illustrates that season after season. She added another 13 first prizes to her palmares this season, including a provincial win from Orleans, and she had the fastest old bird in West Flanders both in Bourges and Chateauroux. Well done!

He claimed more than 26 first prizes, he won a 1st Zone B1 from Gueret, he claimed a 2-3-4-5-8 on a single day, and he even won the first 15 prizes in a single race. It goes to show that the Benny Steveninck pigeons were once again outstanding in 2018; they were at times impossible to beat!

Golden Algarve Race is considered to be one of the biggest one loft races in Europe. This year almost 5000 pigeons participated. Today the final race is held and the pigeons were liberated in Bragança, 505 km from the arrival place in Monte Gordo. Pigeon fanciers from all over Europe are gathering to witness their arrival.

Quite a number of fanciers from around the city of Waregem were sidelined for four weeks, due to the protection zone that was installed following a Newcastle Disease outbreak. As soon as the ban was lifted, some teams were really eager to start racing again, including the team of Antony Maes.

(27/09/2018) Luc De Laere (Anzegem, BE) wins a 1-2-3 Provincial from Tours, and a 1-2-4 Provincial from Chateauroux in a single week!

After being sidelined for four weeks due to an outbreak of the Newcastle Disease, the pigeons of Luc De Laere picked up where they had left off, achieving great results like they used to. They claimed the first three prizes in the provincial race from Tours on 8th of September, and they almost did the same in the national race from Chateauroux, winning a 1-2-4th provincial. Impressive!

The combination from the town of Berlaar, home to quite a few successful teams, had its national breakthrough in 2013 with a national first prize from Nevers with racing bird Jente. They continued to deliver the following season, with Tarzan winning the title of National Ace Pigeon Longer Middle Distance KBDB YBs. That same Tarzan is now showing his potential in the breeding loft.

We travelled to the town of Urk to sit down with Pieter Woord (58) and Louw van den Berg (38). Peter works for the Dutch Aerospace Center in Marknesse, and Louw van den Berg runs a fish wholesaler. Together they laid the basis for a successful long distance team that demonstrated their strength again this season.

(07/09/2018) Vermeerbergen - Wilms (Mol, BE) dominate a demanding Argenton III winning a 1st and 2nd National Zone B2 and a 3rd and 4th National

The Vermeerbergen-Wilms combination from Mol has done it again: they set their sights on one particular race and they were simply outstanding that day, claiming gold and silver both in the province and the zone. They had 4 pigeons in the national top 60, including a 3rd and 4th national!
