
A total of 100 pigeons were sold last Sunday, raising 222,750 euro in total. This results in an average of 2,227 euro per bird.
Dirk Van Dyck, the iconic fancier from Zandhoven in Antwerp, lived up to his reputation as super champion again in 2018. He was outstanding in the sprint, the longer middle distance and everything in between, both with the old birds, the yearlings and the young birds.
Dirk Van Dyck needs no introduction. The pigeon fancier from Zandhoven became world famous in the 1990s thanks to the one and only Kannibaal. And breeding birds Rambo and Den Bourges have become well known names as well.
2015 was another great season for the likeable fancier Dirk Van Dyck from Zandhoven. He won the title of General Provincial Champion KBDB Antwerp for the fourth time in five seasons’ time. He also won the title of 1st National Ace Pigeon Shorter Middle Distance KBDB Old Birds and 3rd National Ace Pigeon Shorter Middle Distance KBDB Yearlings.
The fancier from Zandhoven took a national first prize against 10,141 yearlings on Saturday 2nd August. He had been very close to a national victory a few times, and eventually he was able to claim a well deserved win. He could not be happier!
