New Harry gained international fame just recently, thanks to a public auction in which he proved the most expensive young bird yet. But that is not the only thing that makes New Harry a famous bird. His excellent race results and his breeding potential have turned this New Harry into an iconic new bird in Jan's collection, following in Harry's footsteps.
Last weekend, in a public auction organized by De Duif, a child of New Harry was sold for a record amount of 146.400 euro to a Chinese buyer, it is the most expensive young bird ever sold in the world.

The final race of the season for the Midlands National Flying Club took place on the 14th of September from Carentan in France. A total of 201 members entered 1947 young birds which were liberated at 9:30am into a light east north east wind. The forecast was for good visibility up to the French coast and throughout the English channel.

John Crehan is now into his fourth full season of racing the Jan Hooymans' pigeons which are closely selected for him by the ace fancier from Kerkdriel. Each year, pigeons sent by Jan to John perform exceptionally and this last season has been no different.
The unsurpassed Harry bloodline of Jan Hooymans has been victorious in the NPO race from Bourges against 4,814 pigeons: the one year old racing cock Baron Harry claimed victory and was almost victorious in the Northern Union as well against 14,322 pigeons. The 4th Hot Spot Car Race of the South African Million Dollar Pigeon Race took place on 8th January, a race of 309km into a headwind. A group of 3,100 pigeons were released, and the fastest bird completed the race in five hours with a velocity of barely 60 km/h. It was in this particularly demanding race that Team Hooymans claimed a preliminary title of 1st Ace Pigeon Grand Average.

It was a very strong final, a real final with the first 2 pigeons reaching the velocity of 957 mpm, after flying a distance of 500 km, from East to West, from Ukraine. Released at 7.45 in the morning the first two pigeons arrived at 16.27, Jan Hooymans winning the first price and Reijnen Loft the second.
There seems to be no end to the impressive list of NPO wins in Kieldrecht. The closing race of the old birds’ season from Bergerac resulted in a first, third and fourth.
The two fanciers are well known and well respected in the world of pigeon fancying. They both have a top class collection. The two most important birds of the two fanciers are Chanel No5 and Harry. This is a unique pair that was bred in line, for instance to Kleine Dirk.
