Frequently Asked Questions

Clubs

I've submitted a club, but I cannot find it in the list.

After you've submitted a club, a PIPA administrator must approve your club information. You can view the status of your club on the My clubs page. When your club is accepted, you will be notified by e-mail.

My club is already in the list, but the club manager and/or co-managers are no longer in my club.

If you want to obtain permissions for a club which is already in the list (meaning: you want to become club manager or co-manager), you should contact us through the contact page. You need to mention the name of your club and your username when contacting us so we can make you club manager. A PIPA administrator will review the club and your account.

Who are 'Followers'?

In the previous version of PIPA Clubs, you could apply for membership. But as of today, we changed this functionality to follow a club. When you follow a club, this club will appear in a seperate list. This list can be reached by clicking on Clubs > My clubs. This doesn't mean you are a member of this club, it just means you are following it, because you could have some interests in it. This concept/idea can be compared with the concept of following people on Twitter.

What is the enveloppe icon in front of a username?

The enveloppe icon provides you a way to send a personal message to the user. This is not an e-mail, but a message which can only be viewed on the PIPA website.

What are the text editor buttons used for?

With the text editor, you can change the layout of the text without having any technical knowledge. To keep your text legible, we have decided not to use colours or other lettertypes in the news items.

= Paste text in the text editor field. All layouts (bold, italic, white spaces, etc.) are removed by copy/pasting the text. After you have clicked on the button, a frame will open with a white text field. Paste your copied text here (e.g. out Word or an e-mail) and press OK. The text appears in the text editor.

Note: You can also copy directly into the text editor field but then you may have problems when you want to reformat the text.

= Copy text

= Cut text

= Strike through text

= Underline text

= Make text italic

= Make text bold

= Insert/Remove bulleted list (bullet: dot)

= Insert/Remove numbered list (bullet: numbers)

= Indent text (increase indent)

= Decrese indent

How do I add a file to a news item or a result?

To add files (e.g. results or posters) to the news report click on the button "Browse". A popup appears with which you can navigate to a directory on your computer containing the file you want to upload. Click on that file twice. You then return to the page containing the news item. Click on the button "Upload" to copy the file to the PIPA website.

You can add several files by clicking at the bottom on "Add another item" and repeat the steps above.

Note: pay attention that your files are not bigger than 500 KB.

On the PIPA website, the files will be listed underneath each other. All visitors can download these files so don't put any confidential documents online!

Once you have found and opened your file, some text should appear in the framework left of 'Browse'.

Once your file has been uploaded, the framework will look something like this (depending on what type of file you have uploaded).
