Jean-Pierre Palm is running what is probably one of the most underrated lofts from Belgium. He is indeed managing a small loft housing about 15 racers and about 20 youngsters with who he is racing at almost each distances. When the deep season has coming, he is competing with a handful of pigeons per race. He manages to book a high prize percentage above 80% and the percentage of prize per 10 is exceptional as well (more than 60%). Is it the proof that he is a skilled fancier or simply because the pigeons housed in his loft are of high quality? The answer is probably on both sides.
He has booked several rankings in the KBDB championships this year:
5. National Champion Middle Distance OBs KBDB 2022
7. National Acebird GMD OBs KBDB 2022
10. National Acebird Middle Distance OBs KBDB 2022
29. National Acebird Middle Distance OBs KBDB 2022
But also:
1. Interprovincial Acebird GMD OBs KBDB 2022 (EPR)
4. Interprovincial Acebird GMD OBs KBDB 2022 (EPR)
4. Acebird All-Round World Best Pigeon 2022
4. Interprovincial Acebird Middle Distance OBs KBDB 2022 (EPR)
5. Interprovincial Acebird Middle Distance OBs KBDB 2022 (EPR)
12. Acebird Middle Distance World Best Pigeon 2022
And over the very last years, he already booked this acebird rankings:
1. Olympic Acebird Cat. B 2019 (‘Olympic Bourges’)
3. Olympic Acebird Cat. D 2021 (‘Olympic Romain’)
8. National Acebird GMD OBs KBDB 2021 (‘Olympic Romain’)
16. National Acebird Sprint Yls KBDB 2020 (‘Olympic Romain’)
Two top racers to look the future
Jean-Pierre was the lucky breeder of an exceptional hen later christened ‘Olympic Bourges’, a fantastic racing hen that we already put under the spotlights in previous reports and that he decided to keep at home in order to build a strain around her, despite various offers he received. He was also smart enough to approach several top fanciers who quickly noticed her high standards as well and this to make some joint breeding (ao. PEC, Bart Geerinckx) in order to bring fresh blood into his stock loft.

More recently, he discovered another crack pigeon who brought him some enjoyable moment at home. This called has been christened ‘Olympic Romain’ and was received as an egg from Adrien Mirabelle. This super cock is the only pigeon in Belgium who booked two national KBDB rankings two years in a row in 2 disciplines, adding on top an Olympic qualification as well.
After a more complicated 2022 season (he still managed to win the 77th national Argenton III against 5.160 old birds after he came back from the Olympiads in Romania), the decision was taken to stop him definitively in order to let him embrace a new career of breeder. With two Olympic pigeons into his stock loft, we are convinced that Jean-Pierre will be able to get the most out of them.
