N J Evans of Blakeney timed a three year old on 987ypm over 474 miles to take first open and first NW section. The only bird home on the day, Nick's blue pied cock has now been named Forest Hunter and was on its first race on the north road have only been as far as Eastbourne (140 miles) south. It is bred from his old family of Jan Aarden pigeons crossed with those of the late Wilf Reed of Monmouth. Nick had a second arrival which is provisionally thirteenth open and which contains Busschaert x Wilf Reed bloodlines.
Darren Ede and Family from Southampton were second open and first SE section with a two year old on 832ypm over 540 miles. Darren timed a cock named Bittersweet and which has now been eleventh open Elgin, third open Perth and now second open from Thurso. It is bred for a hard days racing as the dam is a daughter of Iron Man (1st national Perpignan, 2nd national Marseille, 7th national Palamos, 15th national Perpignan and 132nd national Tarbes) and Dark Star (1st national St Vincent and 19th national Tarbes). The sire is a super breeding cock that Darren bought from Darren McFadden's entire clearance sale.
Mr and Mrs Bakes from Havant were third open and second SE section with a three year old on 823ypm over a distance of 545 miles. Kevin timed a hen containing Bernard Deweerdt bloodlines and bred off his number one stock pair.
M Jefferies of Waterlooville clocked a yearling on 820ypm over 540 miles to take fourth open and third SE section. Mick's timer was bred from a son of 1st international Pau 2018 when paired to 1st international Perpignan 2017. The dam was a daughter of Isla's Rainy Day Boy, 1st international Pau when he was paired to Pau Princess, 2nd international Pau.
Pete Barlow of Coombe Hill was fifth open and second NW section with a four year old on 809ypm over a distance of 463 miles. Pete's pigeon contains DeWeerdt x Mark Gilbert bloodlines and both parents were gifted to him by Graham Clift of Tirley. A half-brother topped the section from Guernsey earlier this season.
Britton and Hames of Reading timed two pigeons to take sixth and tenth open, first and fourth NE section. Flying 503 miles, first on the clock was a two year old on 786ypm, followed by a yearling on 751ypm. Sixth open was bred from a Mark Gilbert cock and the dam was bred by Nigel Langstaff. Tenth open was bred from their own family of pigeons and the dam was tenth open from Pau.
Owen Abery of Reading clocked two pigeons to take seventh and ninth open, second and third NE section. Flying 504 miles, both of Owen's timers were two year olds on 786ypm and 761ypm respectively. First on the clock was bred down from Golden Barcelona x Dam Starlight and Southfield Supreme bloodlines of Mark Gilbert. It was Owen's fancied pigeon and was well pooled. The sire of his second timer was bred down from Southfield Melissa bloodlines on the sire's side, whilst the dam is down from Rosanna Golden T20 and Kannibal Barcelona from Mark Gilbert.
Cottrell, Richmond and Rogers of Wimborne were first and second SW section, eighth and twelfth open. First on the clock was a three year old on 782ypm over 542 miles. Next to time was a two year old on 665ypm. The section winner is now named Red Hot and was bred in the partner's stock loft. The sire was on loan from their friend Shaun Stockley and is a red Jan Aarden containing Hagen Brothers' bloodlines. This was paired to a daughter of Roger, gifted to Ollie Richmond by Roger Jones. Second section was bred from the partners' old long distance family of birds.
Mr and Mrs Leggatt of Havant clocked a two year old hen on 725ypm over 545 miles to take eleventh open and fourth SE section. The Leggatt's bird is bred from Calum Edmiston's international winning Dutch family of pigeons crossed with their own inbred Southwell family. It has been named Georgina.
Mark and Julie Gower of Fordingbridge were fifteenth open and third SW section with a four year old on 603ypm over a distance of 533 miles. Mark timed a hen containing Andy Parson's bloodlines, being bred down from a brother of his fifth open Tarbes winner.
