We kind of expected Jelle Roziers to be one of the men to beat in the national young birds' races. But we were still amazed by how strong he really was. We already talked about the promising results of Roziers-Xiang in an earlier article a few weeks back. And they scored again in the last weekend of national racing. Jelle had basketed 54 pigeons for the closing race from Chateauroux, and 6 of them finished in the national top 78:
One of the first pigeons to arrive home was racing hen 933-20. She is a direct Adrien Mirabelle (Ghlin, BE) that Jelle has been quite successful with. In addition to her 8th Nat. Chateauroux III she also won a 506th Nat. Argenton 23,280 p. and a 667th Nat. Chateauroux II earlier this year.
The sire of this 933 is Lewis BE14-1073325, himself a 5th Nat. Ace Pigeon shorter middle distance KBDB and a terrific racing and breeding cock bred from Supreme (a half brother of Acy of Bart Geerinckx) and Sweet Surprise of Adrien.
The dam is Daughter Zodiac BE14-2339314. She stems from top class bird Zodiac, a 1st Nat. Ace Pigeon shorter middle distance KBDB, and nest brother of Divock (4th Nat. Ace Pigeon shorter middle distance KBDB) and Saffia BE13-9029115 of Casaert-Senechal.
The chequred hen Anna BE20-6053073 arrived home simultaneously with the 933, taking an 8th Nat. Chateauroux III of 15,322 young birds. She already had a 354th Nat. Argenton 23,280 pigeons and a 3rd Noyon of 489 pigeons to her name, where she was beaten by two teammates.
Stock dam Queen L features in her pedigree four times.
Her sire Acheron BE18-6034054 won a 4th Nat. Zone Chateauroux 3,307 p. and she is the sire of Dorus: 12th Nat. Tulle 4,451 p., 62nd Nat. Gueret 12,888 p. and 150th Nat. Issoudun. The sire of Acheron is Lewis, a double grandchild of Queen L.
The dam is Xena BE17-6037637, which would quickly become a very successful breeder. She was crossbred from Ziko Never Die, a cock from Hennie Kallmeyer, and Honey, which is a half sister of Helen, a 11th Nat. Ace Pigeon KBDB for Jelle. Honey is related to Queen L twice from her father's side.
Mississippi Girl 151-20
The third pigeon to win a national top result for Roziers-Xiang is Mississippi Girl BE20-6053151. She wins a 28th Nat. Chateauroux III but she is most of all the Best young bird in the Belgian national races with four prizes.
The sire is Robin BE6126528, a pigeon from the best bloodlines of Henderickx-Van den Burel. For instance, the dam of Robin, Minnie, won a 2nd Prov. Blois of 2,596 p., a 7th Nat. Chateauroux 4,631 p. and a 2nd Prov. Le Mans of 359 p. The sire of Robin was crossbred from Van de Wouwer and Henderickx-Van den Bruel.
The dam of Mississippi Girl is Zofia BE18-6034050. She won a 14th Prov. Le Mans 1,315 p., and she is a crossing of Engels x Roziers: the sire of Zofia is Nathan, a brother of the 1343/15 of Engels J & J, winner of a 2nd Nat. Chateauroux of 2,780 p. The dam is Sunny Princess of Jelle, a proven breeding hen.
Seven's Kid 113-20
The 33. Nat. Chateauroux III goes to Seven's Kid BE20-6053113, a nest brother of Seven's Boy, 7th Best young bird in the national races with 4 prizes.
As his name suggests, Seven's Kid is a son of Seven BE13-6053078, which is also the sire of Seven Junior, 2nd Nat. Ace Pigeon longer middle distance YBs KBDB in 2016. Seven is a son of Whity Bart ( a direct Bart Geerinckx) and Sunny Queen, a daughter of Queen L.
The dam of Seven's Kid is Lady Trade, a pigeon of Engels J&J from their very best bloodlines. Lady Trade is a daughter of De Limoges, 1st Nat. Limoges of 15,009 p. and of Zus Laura (inbred to stock breeder Den 178).
Ziko Junior 016-20
The fifth pigeon to finish in the national top 50 for Jelle Roziers in Chateauroux III is Ziko Junior, winner of a 41st Nat. Chateauroux III of 15,322 p.

Jelle's sixth and final pigeon in the national top 100 in Chateauroux III is Victoria BE20-6053083-20. She was also crossbred, the sire is Lux Harry NL17-1410744, a Jan Hooymans cock that finished in third place in the final race of the Victoria Falls OLR in Zimbabwe. Lux Harry comes from a son of Jan's renowned birds Harry and Birdy. His dam was inbred to Kannibaal of Dirk Van Dyck and comes from Herman Pouw.
The dam of Victoria is Sydney BE18-6034014, winner of a 3rd Nat. Zone Chateauroux 3,307 p. and 159th Nat. Bourges 23,854 p. The sire of Sydney is Nice One, inbred to Queen L. The dam is Miss Eddy of Team Noël-Willockx. This has been a very important pair in the breeding loft.
Winning and letting others win
The team claimed six national top results but like we said, there were two other pigeon families that excelled with pigeons from the Jelle Roziers family. We take a look at both of them:
Hok Van den Bruel: 32nd Nat. Chateauroux 15,322 p.
Hok Van den Bruel from Itegem wins a 32nd Nat. Chateauroux III with BE20-6056603. This pigeon was bred by Jelle Jellema and the sire is Aramis BE17-6260696 of Van Eynde-Govaerts. The dam is Jacky L BE18-6034157, 3rd Nat. Zone Argenton 3,421 p. and 15th Prov. Le Mans 1,315 p.
Davy Tournelle: 73rd Nat. Chateauroux 15,322 p.
The other fancier to finish in the national top 100 with a pigeon bred by Jelle was Day Tournelle (Rummen, BE). Racing bird BE20-6053270 won a 73rd Nat. Chateauroux III. This pigeon already had a 15th Nat. Argenton of 23,280 p. to his name.
The sire of this 270-20 is Father De Gert NL13-1274526.De Gert was Nat. Ace Pigeon YBs in 2016 and he comes from two Leo Heremans pigeons: Halfbroer 696-04 Donk x Egg.
The dam is Juneau BE12-6201317, which was inbred to Queen L. She is in turn the dam of New Queen L, 1st Nat. Ace Pigeon longer middle distance KBDB YBs in 2017.
It goes without saying that Jelle Roziers has been one of the leading names at national level. He has really mastered the young birds' game, although he will always be one of the men to beat with the old birds and yearlings as well. Every season, he aims to win national top results and a number of ace pigeon titles. He is an exceptional fancier who dedicates a lot of time and effort to his pigeon racing career. This has been the key to success for him. And let's not forget that he relies on a collection of top quality pigeons, which have excelled in many other lofts as well!
