Mike timed Iron Saviour, the sire of which was bred from a son of Mark Gilbert's Iron Man when paired to Southfield Dark Star x daughter of Hugo. The dam was bred from a son of Peter Fox's Proper Rik x direct Eddy Janssen's hen. This was an experimental cross between two of Mike's latebred racers from last season. Iron Saviour was raised on the darkness system, trained to thirty miles and had three races prior to Falaise.
Second open and second central section was a youngster on 1132mpm over 146 miles for G Kingswood-Cox of Southampton. Godfrey clocked a blue pied hen called Flash of Thunder. Flash of Thunder contains his CSCFC Pau winning bloodlines, twice through Daphne (best in Europe over four races with a co-efficient of 2.4) and once through Volante (36th open CSCFC Pau and 38th Open BBC Bordeaux). The dam of Flash of Thunder is a double grand-daughter of Daphne and the sire is a son of Volante.
D Dumitrascu of Basildon timed a youngster on 1121mpm over 187 miles to take third open and first east section. Darius is originally from Romania and most of the bloodlines of his pigeons come from there. These are crossed with the bloodlines of New Laureaatt and Kleine Jade.
Lee Bastone of Burnham on Sea was fourth open and second east section on 1120mpm over a distance of 194 miles. Lee clocked a blue cock on its second race and sent driving to nest. Its bloodlines are Peter Fox's Golan and Sunday Girl when crossed with the Prince lines from Formula One Lofts. Lee's timed was also the first gold ring bird clocked and won £2,000.
Charlie Simmons of Basildon timed a youngster on 1118mpm over 188 miles to take fifth open and third east section.
Sixth open and fourth east section was won by A Scarborough of Laindon with a youngster on 1111mpm over 188 miles.
Mark Gilbert of Windsor was seventh open and third section C on 1109mpm over 178 miles. Mark timed a hen bred down from New Laureaatt, first international Barcelona and Naomi, first international ace bird Barcelona.
R and P Thomas of South Benfleet were eighth open and fifth east section on 1106mpm over a distance of 188 miles.
Mr and Mrs R Hume of Rochford were ninth open and sixth east section with a youngster on 1103mpm over 191 miles.
Tony Meader of Benfleet was tenth open and seventh east section on 1102mpm over 187 miles.
Around the sections
Tomasz Fedyk of Melksham timed a youngster on 1041mpm over 192 miles to take first west section. Tomasz timed a home bred hen containing Steve Slade and House of Aarden bloodlines.
Brooks Brothers and Wilcox of High Littleton were second west section on 985mpm over 196 miles. The partners clocked a chequer cock, sent sitting eggs and paired to a latebred hen from 2019. The sire is Whitetail, a home bred stock cock containing Mark Bulled's Old 60 bloodlines. Old 60 is the grandsire of Legacy, first open Tarbes. The dam was bred by the Dutch partnership Verweij De Haan and is a grand-daughter of Bartoli, first international Agen.
Danny Lanahan of Poole was third west section on 942mpm over 153 miles. Danny timed a son of his classic winner Dark Flo, when paired to a daughter of Flo. It was raised on the darkness system.
P S Wraight of Bluntisham was first north-centre section with a youngster on 974mpm over 239 miles.
John Black of Hitchin was second north-centre section on 958mpm over a distance of 216 miles. John's timer was Morning Mike, a chequer pied cock sent sitting ten days and bred by John Chipperfield of Herne Bay in Kent. The sire is Joe, first international Pau and the dam is a daughter of Lady Teresa, second Pau and first international Perpignan.
Third north-centre section was a youngster on 747mpm over 236 miles for Mircea Liviu Dehelean of Wellingborough. Mircea clocked Black Beauty, a hen raced on the natural system and sent sitting two dummy eggs. The sire is a grandson of Turbo, one of the best racers for Rosu Alin of Romania.
Jeremy Nicholson of Ipswich was first north-east section with a young bird on 999mpm over 223 miles. Jeremy's section winner is a blue Van Den Bulck cock bred from a Patrick Boeckx cock from the top hen Vaal Luna and a grandson of Good Road. The dam is a home bred Van Den Bulck, direct from his top pair, Mealy Bob and Quiet Girl.
Kris Mulley of Copdock was second north-east section on 932 mpm over 223 miles.
Len Swallow of Diss was third north-east section with a youngster on 891mpm over 246 miles. Len timed one of his old family of pigeons that he has had for over seventy years, with no need to bring in any new bloodlines.
