It was thanks to the racing hens of Bart De Clerck that the race from Limoges was such a great success for Team BDS, with a provincial victory as the icing on the cake, with his first nominated. The third pigeon to arrive home (149th Prov. - 359th Zone - 926th Nat.) was their second nominated, so they have already earned a few championship points as well. We go through the numbers:
Limoges Prov. 3,037 olds: 1-26-149-168-444-510-830-952 (8/12)
Limoges Nat. Zone A2 – 5,024 olds: 4-58-359-411… (6/12)
Limoges Nat. 15,981 olds: 16-137-926-1036-2328-2559-3843 (7/12)
Their winning hen was also the fastest hen in the province, covering the 621.741 km from Limoges with a velocity of 1619 m/min.
Lady Limoges wins 1st Provincial
This chequered athlete had already shown her enormous potential as a young bird and a yearling, claiming excellent results in the longer middle distance. And she was impressive in her first national long distance race as well. Bart had basketed her as his first nominated because he had great confidence in this bird, and with good reason.

A fantastic breeder from a joint breeding between Team BDS and Jo Bauters. He is already the sire of a 1-5-5-9-10-18th provincial. This successful breeder is himself a son of the iconic Fabian BE11-4239270 (winner of a 1st Nat. Poitiers 2014 and 1st Prov. Bourges 2012 for Jo Bauters) x top breeder Blue Antonia BE13-3076220, the dam of two national ace pigeons (from a joint breeding with Rudi De Saer involving 1st Nat. Souillac Antonio x One Eye Blind of Team BDS).

A direct Joël Verschoot from Son Gouda BE14-3147204 (a direct Norbert & Stefan Ally from top pair Gaston 039 x Gouda) x Aceline BE14-3004775 (daughter of 1st Nat. Agen x granddaughter of 1st Intnat. Marseille).
This Lady Limoges appears to have some excellent origins indeed, including four national race winners. Good blood never lies.
Bart De Clerck has specialised himself in racing hens within Team BDS. These were basketed mainly for the provincial and national races of the longer middle distance until two years ago. Last year, the hens were basketed for their first few long distance races as well, and this has been quite a success indeed: they already have a provincial victory on their palmares. Team BDS has had an excellent start to the long distance competition, and we reckon they are ready to deliver some other spectacular results in the weeks to come.
