Hard, harder, hardest, Hardy Krüger - the black gold from Rommerskirchen (DE) continues to prove itself

The German pigeon racing community is proud to have a fancier like Hardy Krüger in their ranks. He is one of Germany's leading fanciers for sure, although he is first of all an exceptional breeder.

If you were to ask fellow pigeon fanciers about Hardy Krüger, they would not have to think long to come up with an answer. He is famous around the globe for his exceptional feel for pigeons with special skills. It would be quite a challenge to reach Hardy's level of knowledge, although as a fancier, you quickly appreciate the hard work and the many top quality birds that have gone into his pigeon breed. This is what makes the Krüger breeding loft such a high quality and unique collection of pigeons. And Hardy is continually looking for further improvements. His breeding loft is gradually becoming more important than his racing loft. And numerous other renowned lofts like to rely on Hardy's expertise and his touch; it explains the spread of the Krüger bloodlines across the globe. And the PIPA Elite Center has been convinced of the qualities of his pigeon breed as well. Those of you familiar with the Elite Center will be aware that they only rely on the very best bloodlines on the market, and that they only breed with pigeons with a proven record, pigeons they can 100% rely on. And so it does not really come as a surprise that his pigeons were granted a spot in the PEC.

Let's not forget his exceptional achievements in the different One Loft Races across the globe. For instance, he won a 3rd and 9th prize in the semi-final of this year's "Europa Master" OLR. And the Krüger descendants were unstoppable in the final as well. Hardy took 25th place in the final, and the winner of this year's final had deliberately opted for a pigeon with 25% Hardy Kruger origins. It was with the help of "Black Power" that Alfons Klaas claimed victory in this race.

And the Black Gold descendants are showing to be among the best athletes in their union as well. For instance, the team claimed 33 prizes with 43 pigeons in the race from Vouziers (235km) of 616 pigeons. In addition, their best prizes include a 4th, 5th, 7th, 8th, 10th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 32rd and 40th. And a group of 28 yearlings was able to claim 22 top prizes in that same race. Their best result was a 4th place, followed by a 6th, 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th of 381 yearlings.

The team had another great result in Troyes (360km) on the 25th of May 2019, with a prize percentage of 63.64%. The Krüger pigeons won an 11th, 14th, 15th, 26th, 27th, 28th, 30th and 39th prize that day.

And the Krüger pigeons proved very strong again in the 454km race from Angerville, in which 470 pigeons were involved. They claimed several top prizes in this race, including a 5th, 6th, 9th, 11th, 13th, 18th, 20th and 21st. And the yearlings were quite successful as well: 24 basketed one year olds were able to win 15 prizes against 266 competitors, including most notably a 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 16th, 19th and 20th.

And the young birds demonstrated their excellent form as well: a team of 62 basketed pigeons claimed 41 top prizes in a race from Vervins (240km), against 416 competitors. Their best prizes include a 1st, 2nd, 5th, 6th, 7th, 9th, 10th, 15th, 17th, 26th, 32nd and 34th. And the youngsters demonstrated their potential again in the following week, with an additional 1st, 5th, 6th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 13th, 19th, 23rd, 24th and 25th prize and a prize percentage of 44.26% against 185 young birds, over a distance of 275km.

Hardy has had the fortune of developing a top-tier pigeon breed around the invaluable bloodlines of Black Power. This is a pigeon breed that he can truly rely on. Black Power was himself a 4th Ace Cock in the district races of more than 40,000 pigeons. This racing bird claimed victory against 471 pigeons in a race of 728km, with an incredible 13 minute lead. Hardy quickly understood that this cock would be of great value in the future. And then came the rise of one of Black Power's descendants: Black Soul 07274-09-2100 demonstrated his potential in a variety of pigeon races, which made it obvious that this is a trustworthy bloodline indeed. The now ten year old cock claimed numerous top 100 prizes, as well as for instance a first prize of 2274 pigeons.

The one year old sons DV07274-18-420 and DV07274-18-421 in turn underlined the level of quality in this pigeon breed as well. The 420 became the third best one year old cock in the RV with 10/11 prizes. This young son of Black Soul took 6th and 12th place from Troyes (365km) and Bourges (540km). And his brother 421 was equally successful, with 7/11 prizes and a third place from Auxerre (420km), a 10th place fom Vouziers (225km),  an 11th place from Troyes (360km) and a 19th place from Angerville (465km). As such, these two grandchildren of Black Power followed in the footsteps of their successful ancestors.

Another important member of this breeding loft is Black Diamond, which also originates from the Black Power bloodline. This black racing cock from 2014 is a son of the famous Black Pearl. This pigeon was a 1st Olympiad Pigeon in Poznan in 2011 in category H, and he also won a first prize in the 2010 Europa Cup in Dortmund in the middle distance. In addition, Black Diamond claimed victory in a regional race over 368km against 406 pigeons and 209 fanciers, with an 8 minute lead. And he proved even stronger in 2015, the year in which he claimed an impressive 8 top prizes and 701 ace points, as well as a number of first prizes. This is another example of the exceptional breeding value of the Black Power bloodline. And Son Black Diamond (DV 07274-18-202) has shown to be a highly gifted bird as well: he added the following top prizes to his palmares as a one year old:

3. Angerville, 445 km
6. Troyes, 365 km
11. Vouziers, 230 km

His nest sister with number 201 is called Coco Chanel. She has an excellent pedigree as well:

1. Sezanne, 335 km
4. Chalons, 285 km
5. Sezanne, 335 km (Regional)

Black Hardy

Another son of Black Diamond is called Black Hardy. We gather almost every fancier would dream of having such a top quality breeding bird in his collection. Lubomir Kubacek from the Czech Republic was fortunate enough to have this breeder in his collection, since his youngsters and grandchildren have proven to be truly terrific. Shorter or longer distance races, easy or demanding races? The descendants of Black Hardy are truly unstoppable.

And let's not forget Street Birdy. This pigeon was quite a lucky find for Hardy Krüger, and he stems from that same Black Power bloodline. His dam is called Luisa, and she is also the dam of racing cocks 420 and 421, which we talked about earlier on. She has been breeding quite a few talented descendants. Street Birdy is the sire of the exceptional Sellaomi, which finished in 113th place in the final of the 2018/2019 South African Million Dollar Pigeon Race, racing against 2531 other birds. She was also 18th best "Grand Average" in this competition. Sellaomi has shown to be quite a fast racing bird in different training flights and in several races.

And we saw another son of Street Birdy develop into a fantastic athlete: the young racing cock from 2019 with number 371 was particularly successful in this year's Jungtour, a competition for young birds; he claimed a first prize (275km), a 65th prize (240km) and a 7th prize (130km).

Speed, consistency and relentlessness. That is all it takes to describe the pigeons of Hardy Krüger from Rommerskirchen!
