One of the best long distance lofts in Belgium
To us, they really deserves this statement. Aware that their geographic situation (short distance, not really on the flying lines) would be unfavourable most of the time, the father & son Nihoul know they are unable to play the big role in most of the races. Therefore, they prefer to choose their races with great patience and craftmanship. They also pay attention to selecting the right pigeons to enter the races. Then, when everything seems to be ok, they go hard and they clock their first nominated pigeon most of the time. That's how they were able to win 3 x the title of National Champion Long Distance KBDB in only three years, something completely unique for this discipline and still unbeaten in Belgium:
1st National Champion Long Distance KBDB 2008 1st National Champion Long Distance KBDB 2009 1st National Champion Long Distance KBDB 2011
Even better: this year, they were really close to adding a fourth national title to their name. Finally, the Nihoul partnership ended up in second place with only 0,74% of difference with the winner, the De Vroe-Van Gaver partnership. Here is a small overview of their last classifications won in the national championships of the KBDB 2016:
2nd National Champion Long Distance Old Pigeons KBDB 11th National Ace Pigeon Long Distance Old Pigeons KBDB 14th National Champion Long Distance Yearling KBDB 15th National Champion Extrem Long Distance Yearlings KBDB
Some new classifications that are confirming once again the domination of the Nihoul loft, that simply became unavoidable in the long distance competitions!
Narbonne, their favourite race?
During a whole career, you sometimes earn the status of specialist from one or another race. For the Nihouls, it's easy to find one. They have always been successful from Narbonne, one of the last important races of the racing calendar, a classic between the classics. This race has been traditionally very hard because of the flying conditions and that's why it is often considered as the ultimate race for selection, mostly for the yearlings. Moreover, the very best pigeons can get home during the first day of the race, a fact that fits perfectly to the character of the Nihoul pigeons and which achieved some astonishing results over the last few years.
Since 2007, the father & son Nihoul achieved 6 different national top 10 positions with a.o. 1 x 1st & 3 x 3rd national (see the national top 10 positions later in this report). In Belgium, nobody has done better in this race, so it is much appreciated! Have a look at their best results won from this race since 2006:

Talking about these famous national top 100 positions that built the reputation of a racing loft, you better know that the Nihouls are also fond of it. However, we prefered to limit ourselves only to their national top 10 positions because these classifications are much more relevant and they give a better idea of their domination in the long distance events.

To finish this report in the best way possible, we would like to introduce you to the results won by the Nihoul pigeons in other lofts. Here as well, we limited ourselves to the most significatives results, so the results won at national & international level. Suffice to say we could have added numerous lines of performances but it wasn't our goal. Click here to check the list of their references in others lofts.
Congratulations to Roland & Guy Nihoul. We are sure that we will continue to hear about the performances achieved by this family!
