Roland & Guy Nihoul (Senzeilles, BE) can be proud of their pigeon stock!

Everybody knows the Nihoul loft because of their incredible results in the national & international long distance races. But what people don't often know is that their pigeons are also able to shine at national level in other lofts!

The last time we spent some time at the Nihoul colony was at the beginning of August 2014 after their national victory from Narbonne against 2,844 yearlings (Click here to check the report). At the international level, the father and son partnership ended up in 2nd place against 8,360 pigeons, beaten by 48 centimeters by the German winner! For info, the speed that day was only 1,000 m/min for the winner... one of the hardest races ever!

The 'Bossu', national winner Narbonne yl.

A few weeks before the start of the season, we could find them back at the first place of the zonal race from Limoges against 5,228 old pigeons and also as 1st national zone Montélimar against 2,382 old pigeons. We can say this season was a triumph for them like it has been often the case during the previous seasons. Because with 3 titles of national champion long distance KBDB and 7 titles of provincial champion long distance KBDB won in a row, the Nihoul loft is one of the most titled long distance colonies of the kingdom. And we won't even talk about the race performances. Their list of national & international top 10 winners since 2007 is also very impressive (click here to have a look at it). Their main strength is that they always resisted the interest shown in their numerous champions. The Turbo, Magnifique, Professionnel went to strenghten the breeding loft as nowadays, the Bossu as well as Tiger Eyes followed the same path.
It is thanks to this philosophy that they are now able to struggle against the best from Belgium and be a part of the big 5 of the national long distance races in their country. And several other good fanciers understood it.

'Tiger Eyes', the zonal winner of Limoges.

Let's start with Freddy & Jacques Vandenheede (Zingem, BE). The two brothers, who had to their name an impressive amount of national victories, were seduced by the results of the Nihoul loft, moreover when they won their two national titles in a row. Being the best of the best from the hardest discipline in Belgium was probably worth having a look at. The first contacts were made in 2012 and it was quickly decided to proceed to several exchanges, mostly of hens. But only the top class from both lofts was to be a part of the deal.
The first year of breeding happened in 2013 and the least we can say is that it was a direct hit! Less than one year later, two racers with 50% of Nihoul's blood became winners for the famous lofts in Zingem and in the most beautiful way possible as two nest brothers ended the 2014 campain with great class while winning the 2nd & 4th National Ace Pigeon Extreme Long Distance Yearlings KBDB!

The blood runing in the veins of these two top performers comes from the basic pair of the Nihoul loft, being The Couronné x Bolletje, as their mother is Romy II, a direct daughter of this super pair. The Couronné is a five star breeder with numerous top breeding references to his name in the national races with several hens, which makes him one of the most talented breeders of its generation.

That's it for the first chapter of these references. One of the other top fanciers that experimented with the benefits of the introduction of the Nihoul's into his stock is Noé De Coster (Obaix, BE). Noé obtained a daughter of the Magnifique (best international Narbonne racer from '06-'08 with 2 x top 10 international), one of the leading figures of the Nihoul racing team that was crowned national champion three times in four years and also sa on of the magic pair Couronné x Bolletje. This hen became mother of the Beau Noir, a terrific long distance racer as you can see:

As you can see, we are here talking of TRUE references and not a few top prizes here and there. Moreover, we only limited ourselves to the most recent & most significant references. With such quality of pigeons, the Nihoul partnership will probably show us another magical trick in 2015. They will again try to make their place between the elite of the long distance happenings from Belgium. That's for sure.
