PIPA sets new bonds between countries, businesses and fanciers

For the last two days Jan Hooymans was on a short trip to Romania, to visit his good friend Florea Sorin.

The two got together in November at a football match between Steaua Bucharest and Ajax Amsterdam. During his first visit to Holland (November 2012), PIPA acted as a guide for Florea Sorin. Together Jan Hooymans and Florea Sorin decided to start a new business in Romania, specializing in mushrooms and compost for mushrooms.

Not that many fanciers know that Jan Hooymans is the owner of Hooymans Compost, the biggest compost factory in Europe, and one of the biggest in the world. This is the first time that Hooymans expanded his business and factories outside Holland, and this thanks to the good friendship between Jan Hooymans and Florea Sorin. Here I must put down the words of Jan, words of wisdom that I will always keep in mind: "Life is not only about money and pigeons."  Due to his connection with Florea Sorin, they were both received by the Minister of Agriculture, who was very open to the new business, and promised the full support of the government for this new venture on Romanian territory.
Starting this summer, the import of Dutch compost of the highest quality will start in the Romanian market and in surrounding countries.

Florea Sorin bought more than 150 pigeons on PIPA's website in the last 9 months, next to many offline purchases, furthered by a mutual trust and a great relationship between Florea Sorin and Nikolaas Gyselbrecht. Jan Hooymans visited the breeding lofts and the 24 pairs in the individual breeding boxes of Mr. Sorin. Jan was asked to be as open as possible about the quality of the pigeons, and the final conclusion of the Dutch master was: "Simply top quality!"
