Liberation date advanced to Thursday 19 July

Because of the unfavourable weather predictions on the race path for the coming days the organisation has decided to advance the liberation of the Marseille birds by 24 hours to Thursday 19 July by 6:45am (CEST), weather permitting.

Press statement by the president of the CFW Daniel Stoclet:

Hello,

The foreseen weather conditions on the race path for the next couple of days are not fabourable. We fear that we will not be able to liberate the Marseille birds before Monday.

Thursday 19 July seems a better day and in close consultation with the president of the Belgian sports committee and the organisations from the other countries participating in this race we have decided to advance the liberation by 24 hours. We have also organised our transport taking into account the above.

We would like to the all parties for their cooperation in this matter. We have consulted the mayor of Marseille to allow us to liberate our birds one day earlier. The liberation is now to take place on Thursday 19 July by 6:45am, weather permitting.

We hope that all pigeons who basketed for Marseille will not encounter any inconvenience by this decision.

Good luck to you all.

With kind regards,

Daniel Stoclet
