Wonderful racing season for Alain Delhove (Villers-la-Ville, BE)!

Clocking early birds in almost every important long & extreme long distance race of the season: Alain Delhove couldn't have dreamt of a better racing campaign for the last season of his career. The Delhove pigeon family has been showing the world its exceptional potential in the busiest two months of the season: June & July.

Alain & his granddaughter Maxima.

Since the start of the long distance campaign, the flying conditions were rather hard with the average speed rarely exceeding 1.200 m/min. The pigeons from Alain Delhove seemed to be perfectly suited for these flying conditions. One race after another, early birds were clocked at national level and this would lead to what is probably one of the best seasons ever for their manager, who got a lot of help from his granddaughter Maxima in terms of daily caretaking this season. It must be said that it has become almost impossible for Alain to enter his lofts without his hermetic suit. Fortunately, the performances of his pigeons allow him to continue to enjoy his favourite hobby. In addition, Alain Delhove was fortunate to book several national top 100 classifications:

3. St-Vincent nat 2.951 olds (4. International 11.536 olds)
4. Narbonne nat 3.471 yl (7. International yl)
9. Limoges nat 10.325 yl
12. Limoges nat 9.102 olds
52. Narbonne nat 3.471 yl (77. International yl)
60. Valence nat 7.198 olds

77. Narbonne 3.471 yl

A fantastic Limoges with the shadow of his basic breeder, 'Son Zidane'

The race from Limoges II was held on the 08th of July. The pigeons were released in nice weather at 7 o'clock but the race took place under difficult conditions: the pigeons had to complete their race in scorching heat with the wind blowing from the NO-NW while the temperatures were just under 30 deges. You had to basket strong pigeons if you wanted to clock an early bird. Alain Delhove had basketed a relatively important team for this race, mostly composed of yearlings, since this was the last race before the final test of their season, Narbonne. When you take a look at the result, you can come to the conclusion that the team appears to be in great shape with 100% of prizes for the old pigeons (5/5) and a wonderful 23/28 (82% prize percentages):

08/07 Limoges II Iprov - 1,599 olds: 3, 87, 138, 146, 573 (5/5)
08/07 Limoges II Iprov - 1,317 yl: 1, 21, 26, 39, 58, 102, 105, 113, 116, 140, 161, .. (23/28)
      National - 9,102 olds: 12, 767, ... (4/5)
      National - 10,325 yl: 9, 202, 265, 393, 638, ... (14/28)

What is remarkable about the pedigree of the two first pigeons from Limoges (one old & one yearling), is that they are both bred from the line of the stock pigeon from the loft, 'Son Zidane' (direct Etienne Devos & son from the legendary 'Zidane'), a super breeder we already discussed in our previous report (click here to read the report published several weeks ago).

Narbonne, Tulle & Perpignan

The Delhove pigeon family is currently having a perfect season and it is clear that the pigeons were prepared to give everything they have for this last racing season. This team is clearly in great shape, and it seems the pigeons wanted to show they were not ready to disapear so early from the scene. There are still three important long distance classics left and we are sure Alain Delhove will approach each of these races with great determination. If the pigeons continue to show the same mindset, we won't be surprised to see the doctor Delhove leaving the sport with a bang.
