Jean-Pierre Senzée (Bracquegnies, BE) the true revelation of the season 2011 !

Bracquegnies is well-known for his boat lift, a masterpiece of civil engineering, but he became a true specialist in the pigeon sport competition in 2007, when one of his birds won the 2nd interprovincial Tulle CFW.

A performance that is still one of his best memories in the pigeon sport. So much more as at the time, he wasn't a long distance racer. It was more by chance that he took up this challenge and the least we can say is that it was very successfull. Nowadays, the 'long distance bug' is really impregnated into this pigeon fancier from the centre area. But what you need to know is that he continued to grow as a topper in the long distance, and not only in one or two races. Let's have a look:

11/06 Montélimar National - 8.040 birds : 71th (1/2)
02/07 Orange National - 4.856 birds : 7th & 245th (2/2)
23/07 Marseille National - 3.179 birds : 290th & 338th (2/2)
30/07 Narbonne National - 6.531 birds : 66th (1/1)

Finally, it's a balance of 6 prizes from 7 basketted, 5x per 10 with 3x top 100 national with a team of only two or maybe three pigeons!!

An excellent balance that can only lead to this conclusion : continue to focus on the long distance races with a slightly increased team, so much so that Jean-Pierre is well aware that the long distances slot is the future of the pigeon sport. In this context, he just bought a new loft of 3 meters long in which the long distance flyers will be housed. In this way, they will live in their own loft, so they won't disturb the racers of the others teams. Jean-Pierre is in fact at the head of an all-round colony and he really likes to basket his pigeons in speed races. So, why should he do without it? Actually, the colony consists of 30 widows (three for the long distance, 10 for the heavy middle distance, the rest for the speed and the small middle distance races), of 8 hens raced in widowhood in the heavy middle distance races and of 18 breeding pairs who will raise 100 youngsters each year. Let's have a talk to the youngsters game. It's kind of the speciality for our host. The hens of the first round are raced in the 4 national races and the cocks are entered for Bourges. They are darkened and then raced with the sliding door system. The others rounds are well trained and raced in the speed races with a large amount of pigeons during all the season. We bring the proof of this with the 2nd place in the 'national championship speed youngsters KBDB', the last race taking place at the end of august.

Jean-Pierre with his 'Speedy'.

What about in pratice
Jean-Pierre has been a pigeon fancier since 1996 via the uncle of his wife, José D'haenens. Nobody in the family was a pigeon fancier and, like any beginner in our sport, he began with pigeons that had to be killed coming from here and there. The results were not so brilliant and the learning part was really hard but Jean-Pierre was so motivated that he surpassed this. It's been now 3,4 years that his name sounds familiar to the ears of the fanciers from the south of our country. He is actually working with the following origins: Alain Scaillet from Le Roeulx, Kubica-Nanni from Boussoit, Michel Jouniaux from Estinnes and, more recently, Thibaut-Boons from Sombreffe and Jean-Jacques Baleau from Moignelée. Let's also talk about the pigeons of Yvon Deneufbourg from Estinnes, destined to deliver more long distance pigeons. Concerning the care, Jean-Pierre can count on the help of his wife who helps him a great deal. In fact, shetakes care of the breeders, of the widow hens, and she is also making the breeding pairs. Jean-Pierre admits being satisfied with her choice. The master is taking care of each pigeon which is to be raced. Concerning the method, the widows are coupled on the 1st of December and they can raise a couple of youngsters. The hens are removed with one of the two youngsters when the latter are 15 days old. They are then coupled again in March but only for brooding for 6 days. Then the widowhood can start.

The beautifull loft of Jean-Pierre Senzée.
