DVV Pigeons (Moortsele/Lemberge, BE) is one of the leading lofts in Belgium thanks to their Dream Pair

DVV Pigeons have been hard to ignore at top level pigeon racing in Belgium. They excelled in 2016 with a title of 1st National Champion Long Distance Olds KBDB, and in 2017 they added a 1st National Zone Tulle, a 10th National Ace Pigeon Allround KBDB and an 11th National General Champion KBDB to their palmares as well.

Tom Van Gaver (l), Johan De Vroe and Rudi Vandeputte (r)

We have seen Johan De Vroe, Tom Van Gaver and Rudi Vandeputte (DVV Pigeons in short) excel with excellent results over the years, especially in the longer middle distance and the long distance. They have managed to get some great results at national level on a yearly basis. DVV Pigeons focuses on the national classics, and on winning (national) ace pigeon & KBDB titles, leaving nothing to chance. The really put their racing team to the test, and the fanciers are not afraid to test the limits of their pigeons. All pigeons, whether old or young, male or female, are pushed to their limits with a very demanding racing schedule. The fanciers describe their approach as follows: "Only the strong survive! This is perhaps the key to success for us. We have been selecting our pigeons this way for years, and we have ended up with a solid group of pigeons that can compete in almost every environment, and in races of up to 800km. A good quality breed, good health and extensive caretaking are the road to success for us." In previous years both the widower-cocks and the racing hens competed in almost all the national races of the longer middle distance, basically to separate the wheat from the chaff. They are now trying the same method in the long distance, by having their pigeons complete several long distance races in a row. All the young birds are raced in the provincial and national classics as well. You can tell from their national long distance title and numerous other championship titles that their approach is doing wonders. Here is a look at their most important victories and titles, which were won in a short period of time:

Dream Pair Kleine Schoonen x Van Gaver Duivin

We have seen in many other top lofts at home and abroad that a single top class breeding pair can be the driving force behind a successful team, and that applies to DVV Pigeons as well. Many of their achievements in recent years can be attributed to one of the best breeding pairs ever in races of between 350 and 750km: Kleine Schoonen (BE06-4100920) x Van Gaver Duivin (BE03-4152445). Their bloodlines can be found across many of Team DVV's best performers from recent years. We came across many youngsters of De Kleinen Schoonen x Van Gaver-duivin even in the latest generation of breeders, and they appear to have the same breeding qualities as the stock pair itself. We would like to take a closer look at three top breeders: Smart Princess, The New Tom and Blue Lucien. A brief look at some of the team's best racing birds comes next.

These are a few of the team's best breeding birds thar originate from the Dream Pair bloodline. It is no surprise that the racing loft is home to numerous Dream Pair descendants as well.
