Bloodline Harry of Jan Hooymans (Kerkdriel, NL) shows its potential again in 2017

Jan Hooymans is letting his Harry bloodline shine thanks to a meticulously planned breeding strategy. We are only ten weeks into the season and the descendants of the world famous Harry have been winning top prizes one after another, and not just for Jan Hooymans. The Harry bloodline has excelled in many other lofts as well.

Veni, vidi, vici

He came, he saw, he conquered. The achievements of the outstanding NL07-2007621 Harry as a two year old widower are truly unmatched. Many fanciers can only dream of his palmares. Here is a look at his results from four different NPO one day long distance races that he competed in over the course of just a few weeks:

1st NPO Blois - 37,728 b.
1st NPO Chateauroux - 22,340 b.
3rd NPO Chateaudun - 21,520 b.

It earned him the title of 1st National Ace Pigeon One Day Long Distance WHZB 2009.

With this impressive palmares in mind grandmaster Jan came up with an ingenious breeding strategy that would enable him to fully embed this bloodline into his existing pigeon family, while making sure that as many fanciers as possible could benefit from this unusual bloodline. This has been a successful operation indeed, judging from the countless references in 2017 alone. An impressive number of pigeon fanciers have achieved great results with pigeon closely related to Harry.

The pigeons responsible for this excellent result are a daughter of Harry (3rd), a granddaughter Harry (4th) and another daughter of Harry (5th) respectively.

Final words

This is just a small selection of references for 2017. We are not that far into the racing season yet so we are looking forward to the next few weeks and months of racing. Jan is really pleased to see so many other lofts reaping the benefits of this breeding strategy. He is an ambitious breeder, and he is glad to see so many fanciers express their gratitude for winning a top result with a descendant of the stock pair Jonge Bliksem x Dirkje that he created. The results show that these two breeders are on their way to becoming one of the world's most renowned breeding pairs. We have to wait and see what the rest of the season has in store but we think there is still a lot more to come from them.
