Auctions close at 545,375 EURO – Jewels of the Sky 3,544 EURO/pigeon for 102 pigeons – Sakis 5,238 EURO/pigeon

Five different auctions closed this Sunday, raising 545,375 euro for 201 pigeons. This resulted in an average sale price of 2,713 EURO per pigeon for all 201 pigeons together.

Jewels of the Sky – 102 pigeons – 3,544 EURO/pigeon
This is the 12th season of Jewels of the Sky auctions, and after the successful first part in late October 2016 we auctioned the second part this weekend. The 102 pigeons of part two raised an impressive 3,544 EURO per pigeon on average, or an overall revenue of 361,450 EURO.

These are the most expensive pigeons of today:

1. Beauty Noor, a joint breeding of the PIPA Elite Center & Bart Geerinckx with Gaston van de Wouwer from New Freddy X Noor – 17.400 EUR – China
2. AA Special Eighty Seven, a youngster Montali X Yelena of Etienne Meirlaen – 16,400 EUR – Taiwan
3. Daughter Beauty Harry, a youngster of the new top breeder Beauty Harry, Jan Hooymans – 16,000 EUR – China
4. Amalia’s Gold, a youngster of Gladiator X Amalia, from a joint breeding of Bart Geerinckx  with the PIPA Elite Center – 13,600 EUR – Belgium
5. Brother Little Star, a full brother of 1st Nat. Ace Pigeon KBDB 2015 Little Star, Bart Geerinckx, 13,600 EUR – China

The 102 pigeons have been sold to China (28), Taiwan (22), Belgium (19), The Netherlands (7), Germany (6), France (4), Japan (3), Poland (3), Romania (3), USA (3), Iraq (1), Australia (1), Malta (1) and Slovakia (1).

Wout Spierings – 18 pigeons – 1,536 EURO/pigeon
Wout Spierings had his highest average sale price ever on PIPA with 1,536 EURO per pigeon. He sold 18 pigeons that are yet to prove themselves, raising 27,650 EURO overall. The most expensive youngster is a son of Harry x Sister Dolce Vita (two top breeders), which goes to Taiwan for 3,600 EURO. Its nest mate was the second most expensive pigeon, and it goes to China for 2,900 EURO. The 18 pigeons will be shipped to Taiwan (8), China (4), France (4) and Spain (2).

Peter & Gwen van de Merwe – 63 pigeons – 1,615 EURO/pigeon
After a very successful 2015 and 2016 season Peter van de Merwe decided to sell his entire racing team. He had successfully sold his breeding team here on PIPA in January 2015, and so he decided to sell his racing team on PIPA as well. He raised no less than 101,725 EURO overall. The most expensive pigeon was Black Jack (sale 1 of part 1), which goes to a renowned Belgian loft for 6,200 EURO. The 63 pigeons were eventually sold to fanciers from Belgium (21), Taiwan (18), China (9), The Netherlands (5), Iraq (4), Japan (2), France (2), Egypt (1), and Poland (1).

Sakis Minovgioudis – 8 pigeons – 5,238 EURO/pigeon
This is a great average sale price for Sakis, who became world famous with his Ludo Claessens pigeons. The most expensive pigeon in this auction is a youngster of stock hen Meeuwke 12, which goes to China for 16,400 EURO. The 8 pigeons raised 41,900 EURO in total, and will be shipped to China (4), Taiwan (2), and Germany (2).

L. Stabel & Zoon – 10 pigeons – 1,265 EUR/pigeon
This was the very first PIPA auction for the father-son combination. Their stock dam Esmee has been doing really well in The Netherlands in recent seasons, which explains the high number of bidders and buyers. The auction closed with a nice 1,265 EURO/pigeon or 12,650 EURO overall for 10 pigeons. The most expensive pigeon is a youngster of Esmee, which was sold to Belgium for 2,000 EURO. The 10 pigeons have been sold to fanciers from Taiwan (5), Belgium (4) and Malta (1).
