09/11/2017 - Frits and Wytse Mantel created an outstanding pigeon breed that proved particularly successful in the one day long distance. The descendants of their stock pair Marsman x Yolin and stock hen Olympic Cape have been extensively tested in other lofts as well. The result is an impressive list of achievements, founded on the excellent breeding strategy of the father-son combination.

22/09/2017 - Due to a relocation we bring you this exclusive auction from the Mantel Combination, the new stars of pigeon racing in The Netherlands. This father & son combination has made its way to the top very quickly, and in 2017 they represented The Netherlands in the Olympiad for the second time in their early career.

19/09/2017 - Frits and Wytse Mantel continue to develop a special pigeon breed based around Olympiad Pigeons Olympic Cape and Olympic Amador, the last of which has an NPO victory on his palmares.

14/09/2017 - These are the top performances from The Netherlands in the weekend of 09/09/2017 and 10/09/2017.

27/12/2016 - The combination had already been at the Poznan Olympiad with Olympic Cape, and racing bird Olympic Amador will be going to this year's Olympiad in Brussels. Olympic Amador was the best pigeon in the Netherlands in category E (>700km).

27/08/2016 - Met een 1e NPO Issoudun en een 1e NPO Blois in twee weken tijd bewijzen Frits en Wytse Mantel tot de absolute top te behoren op de dagfondvluchten in Nederland.

26/07/2012 - Last weekend the weather was fairly good for racing pigeons, even though on Saturday there were a few showers to be spotted here and there. The wind came from the North. Summer finally came along on Sunday, with a weak north east breeze.

11/07/2012 - It looks more and more as if this season we’ll have exactly the same weather as last season, which is not good at all. Race courses are being hindered by showers and liberations are being delayed. Despite all of this, we have new top performers each week.

05/07/2012 - Weather conditions were excellent this weekend, resulting in a pretty smooth race course with velocities of about 1700 m/min. A few fanciers distinguished themselves from others in this weekend’s races.

13/06/2012 - The races of Saturday 9th of June were flown at an extremely high pace. The only one responsible for this was the powerful west-southwest wind that helped the pigeons reach speeds of over 1,700 m/min on the shorter distances and middle distances. On Sunday the forecasted rain was delayed, so the speeds were maintained. The racing season has now finally truely started.

06/06/2012 - The first Saturday of June 2012 will be known for its terrific flying weather. The sky above France was painted blue, there were only a few clouds hanging high above Belgian soil early that morning, after which Belgium had good weather and lots of sunshine. The wind came blowing from the east-northeast.
