One hundred and thirty-nine fanciers sent one thousand, one hundred and eighty-four pigeons to the North Road Championship Club race from Fraserburgh. After a one day holdover, they were liberated at 07.00CEST on the Sunday. The winners were Brian and Christine Guilford of Sandiacre in Derbyshire.

The second race of the season for the North Road Championship Club was held from Perth when one hundred and seventy-five fanciers sent one thousand, eight hundred and twenty-seven pigeons. The winners were the grandfather and grandson partnership of Richard and Tom Mamwell of Louth.

The North Road Championship Club, the elite organisation for classic racing by north road fanciers in England, is 118 years old and the first race this season, from Dunbar, produced the closest finish in its 325 race history, when 168 fanciers sent 1,908 birds.

Its first race of the season was from Dunbar and took place after a days holdover due to poor weather. The birds were liberated into a light south-west wind and the winner was the partnership of Dayton and Sayers from Louth.
