10/07/2011 - Alongside rivers, over lakes and behind hills, villages and towns Barcelona 2011 finally ended up in a one-two between two fantastic metropolises. Evelyn flew from the capital of Catalonia to Amsterdam, the capital of the lowlands, and was the fastest pigeon from an entire European convoy. Marco van Buuren and Piet van de Boogaard are the fortunate fanciers who ‘flagged’ their Evelyn at 04h59.
08/07/2011 - On the night of the 4th of July, someone entered the racing loft of the partnership “Lobato Brothers & Martins” in Dudelange (Luxembourg) and stole several racers, 8 adults and 30 young birds.
08/07/2011 - A sample of ‘pure strength’… we couldn’t describe better the performances of super pigeon ‘Il Ragno’ from the team ‘Stella Rossa’ from Rocco Toscani. In the interprovincial race from Otranto (791 Km) he achieved his second interprovincial victory within a month!
06/07/2011 - Hardly a year passes or nest racer Joachim Neurath knows how to pilot his very strong front racers to great heights in the International competitions. The 1st Nat. Bordeaux against 1.635 pigeons can be proudly added to his already glorious record.
08/07/2011 - After Johan Bleyen had already won 2 x 1° Nat Zone C Bourges, and 2° Nat La Châtre o.b. earlier in the season, he now won from Argenton 1 + 4 provincial with the same 2 yearlings which previously won 4th + 13th National Bourges!
06/07/2011 - Weather permitting, Friday it will be time for Barcelona, the Olympics of the pigeon sport. To give extra attention to this race, we are organising a contest for our readers in which PIPA prizes can be won.
06/07/2011 - The national Argenton from the OVV-FVOV was one of the nicest and most honest races of the season… with great names as winners in both categories. By the yearlings the victory went to Cleirbaut-Desbuquois, who also clocked the fastest pigeon of the entire convoy!
07/07/2011 - With the gunpowder fumes from National Argenton/Chateauroux/Blois/Orleans – which cost the necessary feathers here and there – barely extinct, the Netherlands is preparing itself for a mostly middle distance weekend. The kilometres are starting to add up and the ‘lofts in form’ are distancing themselves more and more from the ‘group racers’.
06/07/2011 - What a triumphal march for the ‘kings of the German grand distance’ in the National Bordeaux … the test for their yearlings which was passed with flying colours. Holding the entire podium with also the 5th and 7th National … a unique performance from the excellent ‘Forest Gump’ dynasty
13/07/2011 - It’s not really a habit but this semi-national race from Châteauroux was won by a fancier who has maybe the worst geographic situation. With their superior pigeon called ‘L’éclair’, the Dermience father and son put themselves on the map of the Belgian pigeon sport.
04/07/2011 - This last weekend will be one which Mark Gilbert will surely never forget even if he lives to be 150 years of age. On Friday the 1st of July he clocked a bird which looked likely to win 1st National Flying Club from Tarbes, the clubs ‘Blue Ribband’ race. Only to learn on Saturday morning that a fantastic bird up into Keighley, West Yorkshire had pushed him down into 2nd National position, a placing which everyone but the first two competitors would like to finish.
04/07/2011 - The region of Bruges e Brugse regio has done well recently. A few weeks ago we had Peter Symaeys who won national from Pau. This week it was Roger Ardeel from Sijsele who achieved national victory from Bordeaux.
05/07/2011 - Last weekend it was perfect racing weather for the pigeons. The liberations took place in beautiful weather, with a good view and a light northern wind. Here below and overview of the nice performances in Belgium last weekend.
05/07/2011 - It was the first weekend of 2010 when super hen ‘Gigi’ from Alwin Petrie confirmed her fame and won 1st NPO Peronne. Precisely a year and various (National) titles later the wonder hen strikes again and wins (with half-brother ‘Usain’ in tow) the 1st NPO Breuil le Vert. Once again a glorious highlight for one of the best pigeon families in the world.
05/07/2011 - Last weekend the Netherlands also had very good racing conditions. The pigeons were liberated in very nice weather, with perfect visibility. Here below an overview of the best Dutch performances last weekend.
06/07/2011 - Directly a 2nd national victory within 2 years for the colony of Raf & Willy Den Haese, who, after La Souterraine o.b. in 2009, now add Argenton o.b. to their honours list… with 2 half-brothers no less!
