21/01/2017 - Due to the improved weather conditions the 9th edition of Thailand One Loft Race 2016 was rescheduled on Saturday 14 January 2017, a day earlier than planned. The pigeons were liberated in the west end of Nan close to the bordering Prae Province, almost directly north of Bangkok, for the final race of 500 km to Bangkok.
05/10/2016 - The Costa del Sol One Loft Race in Malaga, Spain was held on Saturday 1 October. 465 birds were liberated at 9AM in Hervas (Extremadura) for a tough race of 425 km in hot and humid weather conditions with almost no wind blowing. A bird of Mr. Karl Heinz Wichert (Germany) won the race with a 53-minute lead on his closest opponent.
18/05/2016 - PIPA agent for Canada and the USA Andy Larentzakis moved to Florida in 2015. Not only did he move his entire breeding and racing loft, he also worked feverishly to complete the construction of his modern one loft facility. From that loft, the first edition of Big Andy's One Loft Challenge was held. A very successful one.
11/05/2016 - The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be the host to a new pigeon race in the eastern city of Safwa in February 2017, the Al Safa One Loft Race organised by Taqy Al Yousif. The first 25 birds to arrive home after a 350 km final race can split the total prize money of 111,000 Saudi Arabian Riyal (around 25,000 euros or 30,000 USD).
25/04/2016 - Poland has a new one loft race called WG Poker. It is a small-scale project with only around 200 pigeons housing the lofts in the town of Nowe Miasto. "Therefore, only those invited can participate", says race organiser Przemek Wiktorowicz, who will also organise family events around the lofts to turn pigeon racing into a family affair.
22/04/2016 - Africa’s most majestic destination beckons! Global pigeon fanciers are stirring with excitement with news that Victoria Falls, one of the seven Natural Wonders of the World, is the sublime Southern African location for a new US$700,000 one-loft race series in 2016/17.
21/03/2016 - The final of the 2016 Derby Arona race was flown on Friday 18 March. In sunny weather, 490 birds were released for a race distance of 275 km. After having flown nearly three hours, Lee Ray arrived as first of the flock and won the gold medal for Austrian fancier Beniamin Neag. UK fanciers Team Well Wag and Mark Gilbert won silver and bronze.
