Wout Spierings (Waalwijk, NL) claims victory in sectoral race La Souterraine

The one day long distance season is now in full swing, and just like in previous years, Wout Spierings has added another top result to his palmares. Wout specializes in the one day long distance, and every now and then he breeds a new champion that outclasses his rivals with ease.

New Prince claims 1st Sector 1 of 11,959 pigeons

Last year Wout made quite a splash with racing bird Golden Prince, whereas this year's star of the team is New Prince. (Click here to find out more about Golden Prince's achievements last year). He had an impressive 22 metre per minute advantage in the sector, which is considerable, keeping in mind that the advantage in Province 2 was an impressive 43 metre per minute!

The NL18-3816237 is a blueband one year old racing cock from Wout's fundamental bloodlines. The dam of this champion is a granddaughter of 'De Peter', winner of a 1st national ace pigeon 2018 in the Wie Heeft Ze Beter competition. This granddaughter of De Peter claimed a grand total of 47 prizes, along with a title of 1st ace pigeon one day long distance and 9 prizes 1:100.

You can tell from his pedigree that New Prince was destined to be a race winning pigeon. His dam was quite a star but his sire has a proven record as well. He goes by the name of Prince Future, winner of a 1st NPO of 9,425 pigeons from Fontenay. We were not surprised to find out that he stems from another of Wout's main bloodlines. Prince Future is in fact a grandchild of Blue Prins, which we are all familiar with. Click here for the full pedigree.

New Prince was basketed as 2nd nominated for the one day long distance race from La Souterraine, in part because he did really well in the first one day long distance race of the season, winning a 3rd NPO Issoudun (571km). He is a terrific yearling that could potentially claim some prestigious titles later this season! After all, he has already matched the 1st NPO and 3rd NPO of Golden Prince.
