Pigeon releases are often impressive and last weekend in Portugal the biggest release of the season with about 53,000 pigeons was organised. The pigeons were liberated in perfect conditions in Valencia, Spain.
Since Valencia is located in the far east of Spain, the Portuguese pigeons had to cover at least 600 km for the shortest distances. A nice challenge! But as you can see in the video, the start went perfectly. On a very spacious and open area, the more than 50,000 pigeons were given their freedom under a slightly cloudy sky. A weather image a lot of other parts of Europe can only dream of for the moment...
