Vermeerbergen-Wilms-Mostmans (Mol & Rijkevorsel, BE) in great form again in 2016

This team has won some impressive results in recent seasons, and the teams from Mol and Rijkevorsel continue to perform really well this season. The fanciers have high expectations for the national young birds' races this season.

A brief history

The history behind this combination has been described in detail on PIPA a few times already, so we give you a brief summary: In 2011 Luc Vermeerbergen and Robby Wilms formed the successful Vermeerbergen-Wilms combination (Mol, BE), which has become one of the most renowned young birds' lofts in Belgium. In 2015 Luc and Robby celebrated a historic achievement: they won a 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Châteauroux against 10,442 young birds. Stock breeder Lucky Luc (Leo Heremans) has been an integral part of this pigeon family, although the bloodlines of National Wonder (best young bird of 2014 over 5 and 6 national races) have been playing a prominent role in recent years as well. In 2014 a new combination was founded with Kris Mostmans from Rijkevorsel, who has been doing great in the sprint competition for years. Luc and Robby were eager to combine their existing breed with the sprint pigeons in Kris's breeding loft. The Vermeerbergen-Wilms-Mostmans combination was born. The first round of pigeons is raced in Mol to compete in the races on the national calendar. The second round of young birds goes to Kris in Rijkevorsel, to focus mostly on the sprint races, although this team also won a 1st Nat. Zone Guéret against 3,593 pigeons in 2014, besides the title of 1st Prov. Champion Sprint Young Birds. 2015 was a great season as well, as they won the title of 3rd Nat. Champion KBDB Young Birds and 2nd Nat. Ace Pigeon Sprint Young Birds.

BE14-6168603 National Wonder - top class bloodlines of Vermeerbergen-Wilms

National Wonder was the best young bird over 5 and 6 national races (PIPA rankings) in 2014 in the lofts in Mol. The impressive pedigree of National Wonder can be found here. His brothers and sisters have been equally successful: a full sister won a 2nd National in a memorable 2015 race from Châteauroux, and several more top prizes have been won with descendants of National Wonder's parents:

15. Nat. Zone La Souterraine 1,633 p.
24. Prov. La Souterraine 1,123 p.
79. Nat. Zone La Souterraine 1,633 p.

Grizzly Family, a success story for Vermeerbergen-Wilms-Mostmans

The Grizzly Family marks the start of another successful era for the combination from Rijkevorsel. The Grizzly Family has been particularly successful in the sprint competition. The sire is Grizzly Wonder Breeder, the dam is Blue Wonder Mother.

Grizzly Wonder Breeder and Blue Wonder Mother are the parents of Grizzly Ace Wonder (2nd Nat. Ace Pigeon KBDB Sprint YBs and winner of a 1/1,022, 1/1,008, 1/821 1/187, 2/1,455, 4/578, 4/655, 5/618, 6/343, 8/469, 8/282 and 11/1099 from Quiévrain) and his sister Sister Grizzly Ace Wonder (winner of a 1/1,059, 1/725, 1/578, 2/1,099, and 4/1,022, also from Quiévrain). They are the parents of at least 16 first prize winners in the past two seasons. Grizzly Wonder Breeder is a descendant of the renowned Pitbull of Karen Laenen (Herenthout, BE), a great racing bird and an even better breeder. You can find the pedigree of Grizzly Wonder Breeder here. Blue Wonder Mother is a daughter of the aforementioned Grandson Olympic Lievin (a 100% Heremans) x Raketje. Raketje won 6 first prizes from Quievrain, and his youngsters have already won 10. Click here to learn more about the pedigree of breeding dam Blue Wonder Mother.

The Grizzly Family

Meanwhile another promising racing bird has been showing his potential as well: New Grizzly Ace, BE16-6257601. This young bird has already won a 3/827, 3/324, 4/994, 5/325, 7/1,375 and 7/862 from Quiévrain. The pedigree can be found here.

The national young birds' races

We are close to the start of the national young birds' races, including Bourges. These are the races which the team of Vermeerbergen-Wilms-Mostmans in Mol looks forward to every season.   The racing team from Rijkevorsel is all set for these national races as well. They have high expectations, especially because they won four national first prizes in Chateauroux last year. We are eager to see what Luc, Robby and Kris have in store this season.
