The highlight of the day was a first place and a car winner in the final of the Corabia Winter race of 1,376 pigeons. A magnificent result for the world's best OLR pigeon family! Team Reijnen-Bolton has an unprecedented track record in the world of international one loft racing. And it goes without saying that they are very strong in other pigeon races as well: Reijnen-Bolton Hoogh claimed most notably a 1st National Chateauroux YBs 2019 in Belgium with Noé. But it was first of all thanks to their numerous victories in one loft races across the globe that they became internationally renowned fanciers. They won several cars, finals and ace pigeon titles, and they delivered again this week, 27th of May, taking several international top results.
1st final Corabia Winter Race
The main event of the day was the final of the Corabia One Loft Race in Spain, with 1,376 pigeons at the start line for a race from Braganca (500km). After more than 6 hours of racing and with a velocity of 1363 m/min, racing bird NL19-1002262 of Team Reijnen-Bolton took the win. The fanciers from Brabant took home 25,000 euro worth of prize money and a car.
The race winner comes from some of Team Reijnen-Bolton's most successful bloodlines. A full sister was 1st Ace Pigeon Algarve Great Derby, having won a first place of 1,935 birds across 200km. In addition, its (half) brothers and sisters claimed a 24th final Belgium Masters, a 28th final Corabia Winter Race 2019, a 68th final Algarve Golden Race, a 29th Ace Pigeon Derby Carpates, etc. The sire is a direct Van Wanrooy Comb., bred from 1st Nat. Ace Pigeon sprint KBDB Vettel x top breeder Ageless. The dam is X Born Withit, a fantastic breeding hen bred from Brother Diamond Ring of Mike Ganus (formerly known as Leontien of Wout Spierings), winner of a 1st Nat. Ace Pigeon WHZB 2002 for Wout Spierings, and inbred to the bloodlines of Strakke and Remie (Spierings). These two bloodlines continued to excel in the US later on for Mike Ganus, racing as Creator (Strakke) and Natural (Remie). Her dam is Maybeshesbornwithit. Both parents are part of this PIPA auction, which takes place from 1st to 14th of June.

1st Algarve Great Derby Bony Challenge
Hundreds of kilometres more to the west in the Portuguese Algarve region the 180 km Bony Challenge of the Algarve Great Derby took place. Team Reijnen-Bolton was victorious in this race as well, competing against 540 birds. The race winner was NL19-1001878, which had already finished in third place over 100km against 634 p. and in 12th place over 95km of 634 p. She took a nice victory before heading into the final!
Her sire is Broer 02tje (also included in the PIPA auction that starts on 1st of June), from world class pair Son General x Golden Jewel. Son General had already bred the car winner of Derby Arona Tenerife 2014, and this pair also bred 02tje, winner of 3 first places and an excellent breeder with many talented brothers and sisters. A full sister of 02tje was the dam of Noé, a 1st Chateauroux YBs BE of 19,529 p. in 2019, and the fastest of 22,370 p. The dam of their race winner is another Van Wanrooij descendant; this hen was already the dam of a 1st ace pigeon that won a 9th semi-final and a 10th final Corabia Winter Race 2018. She is also the dam of a 1st Strombeek with a 5 minute lead. She comes from their stock dam Koninginneke, the dam of several race winners.
