Stefaan Lambrechts (Nijlen, BE) excels in Bourges II: 2x 1st National Zone B1

It has been a marvelous season so far for Stefaan, who is racing from his new loft in Nijlen. He took a crowning achievement in last weekend's race from Bourges, claiming two national first prizes Zone B1, with both the yearlings and the young birds.

Stefaan Lambrechts showing his 1st National Bourges Zone B1 Young Birds

Knocking at an open door

At the risk of sounding repetitive, this double first prize in the classic from Bourges did not really come as a surprise. Stefaan's pigeons had been performing really well for weeks on end, from the very start of the season (click here to reread our article on a marvellous win from Ecouen). His decision to be racing exclusively from his lofts in Nijlen in 2018 has played out well. He could now focus all his attention on this one location. It is no secret that his pigeon breed has plenty of top quality birds, and his stock pair Blauwe Gert x Van Loock-duivin have provided this team with several talented newcomers. And let's not forget the bloodline of super class hen Lincia (1st National Ace Pigeon KBDB 2015).

BE17-6229471 - 1st National Bourges II Yearlings - Zone B1 (2,836 pigeons)

BE17-6229471 - 1st National Bourges Yearlings - Zone B1, half sister of Olympic Bolt, a niece of Olympic Rosita

This beautiful hen is a granddaughter of Stefaan Lambrecht's stock pair from her mother's side: Blauwe Gert x Van Loock-duivin. The descendants of this pair have provided this team and several other lofts at home and abroad with numerous race winning pigeons. For instance, they became the grandparents of Rosita, 1st Olympiad Pigeon Nitra 2013 Cat. F for Dirk Van den Buck (Grobbendonk, BE). And this 1st national Bourges II Zone B1 2018 is another top result in this breeding pair's long list of references.

The sire of the winning hen is a direct Leo Heremans (Vorselaar, BE) from the lines of Donker Aske, Eenoogske, Dino, Gebroken Poot, Olympiade, De Jan, etc. And he is in fact the sire of Olympic Bolt (BE12-6055611), 1st Olympiad Pigeon Nitra 2013 for Karel & Kas Meijers, NL.

The zonal winner is also a full sister of a 5th Provincial Ace Pigeon Middle Distance YBs KBDB Antwerp 2017.

BE18-6156245 - 1st National Bourges II Young Birds Zone B1 (7,477 pigeons) / fastest in the zone B1 (11,872 pigeons)

BE18-6156245 - 1st National Bourges YBs - Zone B1, aunt of Lincia, 1st National Ace Pigeon KBDB 2015

Stefaan's most impressive achievement in Bourges II came from the one year old hen that claimed victory in the zone. She not only claimed a 1st National Zone B2 of 7,447 young birds, she was also the only pigeon with a velocity of more than 1,400 m/min, making her the fastest overall of 11,872 pigeons in Zone B1.

And she does have a remarkable pedigree as well. Her sire is BE09-6293898 - Olympic Poot, or the grandfather of Lincia, 1st National Ace Pigeon KBDB Middle Distance 2015! The dam is a direct Gert Heylen, and a sister of super class breeder Blauwe Gert (see earlier)..

Her unique pedigree and more can be found here.

An impressive result from Chevrainvilliers

Stefaan Lambrechts delivered again last weekend; just have a look at the following results from Chevrainvilliers (359km):

Two more national races to go

We have two more national races coming up before the 2018 longer middle distance season comes to a close. Given the excellent fitness of his team of racing birds at the moment, we would not be surprised to see Stefaan win a few more top results in the coming few weeks. He clearly knows how to prepare his pigeons for an important race.
