
Mark Gilbert of Windsor timed a five year old cock on 684mpm over 570 miles to take first open and first CS section. Mark timed a second pigeon on 619mpm to also take sixth open and fourth CS section. The sire of the open winner is a grandson of Southfield Supreme, second and third NFC Tarbes, whilst the dam came from Euro Diamond. Second on the clock was a direct daughter of Golden Barcelona and a half-sister to Mark's two Barcelona national winners, Southfield Hugo and Gold Lady. This hen flew Bordeaux on the day earlier in the season and all being well will go to Perpignan in a few weeks time.


M Adochita of Queensbury was second open and second CS section with a two year old, dark chequer cock on 680mpm over a distance of 579 miles. Both sire and dam come from Marinal's good friend Vasile Badin, the National Marathon Champion of Romania. The sire is a grandson of his super pigeon, The Gladiator, which contains three quarters Wegen and one quarter Vanroy bloodlines. For the longer distance races, Marinel has been following the advice of Duncan Goodchild and would like to send his thanks to Duncan.

D G Watson and Son of Ashford Common timed a eight year old on 655mpm over 568 miles to take third open and third CS section. Dave and Daniel clocked Peanut, a blue cock with a multitude of previous prize cards to his name including from Agen, Cholet, St Vincent and Bordeaux prior to this Tarbes win. Peanut contains their own Krauth bloodlines when crossed with a Busschaert.

J Nicholson and Son of Rochester were fourth open and first ES section with a three year old on 622mpm over 564 miles.

B and J Wilson of Dagenham clocked a three year old on 620mpm over a distance of 576 miles to take fifth open and second ES section. Bernie and Jamie timed a natural hen bred by David Hales and Duncan Goodchild. It is a grand-daughter of Duncan and a half-sister to Mirfar, first and second open Perpignan. This pigeon is now called Poppy.

Flying a distance of 572 miles, Geoff and Catherine Cooper of Peasdown St John timed three pigeons to take first, second and fourth WS section, seventh, tenth and thirty-second open on 618, 595 and 417mpm respectively. First section was Farm Grafter, a cock flown on the widowhood system. He is inbred to Farmer George and has the bloodlines of Wollongong, New Laureaat, Special One and Kliene Jade. Second section was Farm Sol, the sire of which was a son of Farmer George and Wollongong, whilst the dam came from Hugo Battenburg and is a daughter of De Tarbes, first Dutch national from Tarbes.

G M Preece and Son of Dover were eighth and ninth open, third and fourth ES section with two, two year olds timed on 612 and 607mpm over a distance of 552 miles.
Around the sections

Clive and Jill Rogers and Neil Sales of Writhlington timed a four year old on 438mpm over 570 miles to take third WS section. The partners timed a sister to the bird that they clocked to be third section from the Bordeaux / Pau international, both being bred from a Terry Preddy cock bird when paired to a hen from the Padfield Family.
