A report on the British International Championship Club race from Alencon on 11th May 2024

377 members sent 6,178 pigeons to Alencon with the British International Championship Club. They were liberated at 08.15 CEST. The following is a report on the provisional result based on members' verifications.
Prilly & Gary Hodges with John Gerard

First open and first WS section was a two year old on 1442mpm over 211 miles for Mr and Mrs Hodges of Templecombe. Gary and Prilly's first on the clock was a medium blue cock bred by Lossin and Gerard of Germany. The winner contains the Roeper x Joseph bloodlines. Joseph was a winner of 7 x 1st combine with big birdages. 

Woolley & Luscombe

Woolley and Luscombe of Saltash were second open and second WS section with a yearling on 1422mpm over 237 miles. Steve and Tony fly as Wyndham Lofts and had two hens arrive together. Both were raced on the widowhood system and first to time contains Staff Van Reet bloodlines. 

Mr/s Mabin's pigeon

Third open and third WS section was a three year old on 1414mpm over 220 miles for Mr and Mrs Mabin of Gara Bridge. Andrew's first pigeon was a dark hen bred from a son of his Poitiers NFC winner crossed with a daughter from Mark Gilbert's good 2010 red cock. 

David & John Staddon

David and John Staddon of Ditcheat timed a yearling on 1404mpm over 219 miles to take fourth open and fourth WS section. 

Clive Harrison of Troytown clocked a two year old on 1402mpm over 194 miles to take fifth open and fifth WS section. 

G Treharne and Son of Nantyglo were sixth open and sixth WS section with a three year old on 1394mpm over 273 miles. 

Nigel Templar of Hartcliffe timed a two year old on 1390mpm over 237 miles to take seventh open and seventh WS section. 

Martin Williams

Martin Williams of Hereford was eighth open and first NW section with a two year old cock on 1382mpm over a distance of 275 miles. Martin timed One Hit Wonder, the sire of which is bred off his old Huybrechts x Roodhooft x Sablon. The dam was his best national hen, Blue Gem. 

Mark Sparey of Abertillery timed a two year old on 1378mpm over 269 miles to take ninth open and eighth WS section. 

Completing the top ten and in ninth WS section are Clive and Jill Rogers and Neil Sales of Writhlington with a yearling on 1373mpm over 227 miles. 

Around the sections 

Tony Cottrell

Cottrell, Richmond and Rogers of Wimborne were first CS section and twenty-first open with a three year old on 1332mpm over 188 miles. The section winner is a blue hen named Merrifield Samphire. The sire of Merrifield Samphire was bred by Justin from Bosliven Lofts and contains Heremans Cuester bloodlines, being a double grandson of Euro. The dam was also bred by Justin and is a Van Den Bulck, a double grandson of Euro. 

Roger Lowe

Roger Lowe of Caversham timed a two year old on 1319mpm over 215 miles to take second CS section. Both the sire and dam of Roger's winner, 08, were bred by Mark Gilbert. The sire is The One That Got Away, a grandson of Armando and Golden Prince. The dam is Dark Wonder from Mark's grizzle pair. 

Mr/s Wall's pigeon

Mr and Mrs Wall of Havant clocked a yearling cock on 1308mpm over 174 miles to take third CS section. Brian's pigeon was on its third race of the season. It is a grandson of Kittle and a dark pied, when paired to a daughter of a Macaloney hen. 

Damian Spzak

Damian Szpak of Deptford was first ES section and sixty-fifth open with a two year old on 1272mpm over 207 miles. Damien's pigeon was a widowhood hen, the sire of which was bred from his Figo hen x Eleckto UK, whilst the dam was Jellema. His second pigeon will be third section and was a grandson of Queen 85. 

P Jackson & Son

P Jackson and Son of Bromley were second ES section with a two year old on 1265mpm over 207 miles. Lee's chequer hen was raced on a jealousy system. It is bred down through their Channel Queen, containing the Sars lines of Jos Thone. 

Dean Child's pigeon

Dean Childs of Wickford was third ES section with a blue pied, yearling hen on 1149mpm over 219 miles. Dean's pigeon is a cross between his established middle distance family and his new Best Kittel family. The sire of this hen won the section from Guernsey last season. 

Purchase and Walker

Purchase and Walker of Lichfield timed a Belgian rung two year old on 1348mpm over 307 miles to take first NC section and fifteenth open. The partners timed two pigeons in quick succession, both containing Johaan Van Erch bloodlines. 

Summers Bros' pigeon

Summers Brothers and Daughter of Braunston were second NC section with a four year old on 1264mpm over 294 miles. The partners' pigeon was bred from Isja Rainy Day Boy x an Alan Wicker pigeon. 

Domenic Gruzelier

Dominic Gruzelier of Houghton Colliery timed a three year old on 1245mpm over 252 miles to take third NC section. Domenic had two pigeons drop together and first on the clock was a home bred widowhood hen, the sire of which was from Best Kittle grizzle bloodlines, son of Bk. 1st Ace x daughter of Gabriela Gino Clinc. 

Dave Downing

Dave Downing of Suffolk was first NW section and one hundred and forty-seventh open with a three year old on 1163mpm over 263 miles. The section winning cock is a Hardy Kruger x Vandenabeele bred from a cock out of a pair direct from Hardy, when paired to a Vandenabeele hen purchased at a Doncaster pigeon show auction from Stewart Knowles 

D & E Ball

D and E Ball of Eyke were second NE section with a two year old on 1005mpm over 261 miles. Dennis' winner contains Gaby Vandenabeele bloodlines. 

Roly Rix

Third NE section was a two year old on 963mpm over 265 miles for Roly Rix of Newmarket. 

Pedigree of Crehan & O'Connor's pigeon

Second NW section was a yearling on 1333mpm over 363 miles for Crehan and O'Connor of Salford. The partners timed a hen, raced on the widowhood system and which had previously won first federation. 

Mickey Lee

M and C Lee of Alfrick timed a four year old on 1299mpm over 280 miles to take third NW section. Mickey timed an unpaired, blue cock.
