PIPA visits Ireland

In July PIPA visited Ireland as we realise their contribution to the sport and the excellent lofts with outstanding pigeons that perform under extreme conditions. It was amazing to learn that their old and young birds have to cross two oceans on middle and long distance races before they reach the safety of their lofts.

This requires a certain type of bird and according to the fanciers in the know it is only a few bloodlines that settle and perform well in Ireland. I cannot thank Sheldon Leonard enough who offered his assistance in reaching some of the many top fanciers in Ireland. It was also good to learn that the established fanciers assist young children to start up in the sport under the leadership of Lee Newman and simultaneously run projects within local schools to promote the sport.
