PIPA rankings The Netherlands schematically

Based on a coefficient

The results will be processed using the following coefficient: coefficient = ((prize win X 100)/number of pigeons)
A pigeon winning a 12th prize against 3,800 pigeons would result in the following coefficient: ((12 x 100)/3,800) = 0.3157%

The pigeon achieving the lowest coefficient in a given ranking based on the required number of results will be the winner of that ranking.
The following is an example (in Dutch) for our ranking of best old birds in the Belgian national races with six prizes:

PIPA has decided that the results should not be achieved within a given period of time. We think this is the best way to find the best pigeon in every category.

General terms

As soon as all the results of a given racing weekend have been published PIPA will start to calculate the best coefficients, after which the different rankings will be determined. PIPA aims to provide an updated version of its PIPA rankings on their website (www.pipa.be) on a weekly basis – an exact timing is yet to be determined.

PIPA has introduced the PIPA rankings for The Netherlands in an effort to meet the wishes of different Dutch fanciers asking for a competition that actually rewards the country’s best pigeons. We have now introduced a long term concept that is not subject to possible changes within the sport itself.
