PIPA in China - November 2012 - update: 5th of December - report

Every year Nikolaas Gyselbrecht and Luna Lai travel to China to pay a visit to a few important Chinese clients. This time they were accompanied by Annekatrien Vinck and Chonin Kuo, two new PIPA employees who were very enthusiastic and eager to know more about pigeon racing in China.

PIPA attended the Langfang exhibition for the first time with some famous Belgian and Dutch pigeon fanciers. It was already the 12th edition of this exhibition, which is the largest exhibition in China with 276 different stands. According to insiders this edition saw the highest number of visitors up to now. If the number of visitors at this exhibition tells us something about the popularity of pigeon racing in China it would be fair to say that our sport is on the rise here!

The second edition of our PIPA Collectors Edition was handed out for free; it proved a great success! We had brought 6,000 copies, which were given away in no time. The Wuhan exhibition was a great success as well. We notice that an increasing number of Chinese pigeon fanciers is familiar with buying pigeons online, which is a result of the fact that PIPA attends more and more exhibitions here. Purchasing pigeons through the internet has become as normal as ordering clothing online.

It was heartwarming to see how the PIPA China Team was greeted with open arms. We really enjoyed Chinese hospitality.

See you next year!
