Loft of Jos Vercammen (Vremde, BE) had a stellar 2014 season

We have seen an incredible number of top performances in Vremde this season. In fact, it would be very difficult to put their amazing season into words. The crowning achievement was of course the 1st national Châteauroux, as well as an impressive six provincial victories.

Over the years Jos and Lars Vercammen have managed to really dominate the longer middle distance and the one day long distance competition in Belgium. There are very few fanciers that have been able to achieve so many successes at provincial and national level. This takes a lot of knowledge, talent and experience and, perhaps most of all, a collection of great pigeons. Jos and his son Lars form a perfect team that performs at the highest level season after season. Their pigeons have excelled not only in their home loft; Jos and Lars have received numerous references from lofts from all over the world that have been able to dominate important races with pigeons of Vercammen.

Besides the many first prizes in their loft, Jos and Lars have had many memorable moments this season. Their pigeons put in an overwhelming performance in the tough race from Limoges II over 675km (with five days in the basket), winning a 1st, 2nd and 3rd provincial old birds and a 1st and 2nd provincial yearlings. They were the fastest five pigeons in the province of Antwerp! In addition, their first and second nominated old birds have won a 2nd and 3rd provincial and their first and second nominated yearlings were clocked as first and second provincial. Another day worth remembering was their national young birds’ victory from Châteauroux with Mustang, which was the fastest of 33,108 pigeons.

It would be almost impossible to summarize their 2014 season in just a few sentences. Instead, we have listed the most important victories of Jos and Lars this season:

As we said, the crowning achievement of 2014 was Mustang’s national victory from Châteauroux. Mustang (BE-6175237) was bred from the promising new breeding pair Tristo x Letra, which Jos and Lars expect a lot from in the coming seasons! The two breeders were paired for the first time in 2014, and a total of six youngsters were given a place in the racing team, two of which were quickly transferred to the breeding loft after Mustang’s national victory. The remaining four youngsters of Tristo x Letra did very well in their first season:

World class pigeons in the loft of Vercammen

It is no surprise that the fantastic pigeons of Jos and Lars Vercammen have excelled at the highest level not only in their home loft in Vremde. In fact, fanciers from all around the world have achieved great results with these pigeons. We take a look at some of the references of the past few weeks:

Thailand One Loft Race

In the Thailand One Loft Race, arguably one of the most difficult one loft races worldwide, Simply The Best (BE14-6175432) was crowned as first ace pigeon. Simply The Best is a direct Jos Vercammen pigeon based on some of their best bloodlines: his sire Romeo Panter (BE11-6282560) is a son of Beckham (BE01-6387174), and his dam Julia (BE12-6196484) is a daughter of Dina (BE08-6144028). The Thailand One Loft Race was particularly tough this season: more than 2,000 pigeons appeared at the start of this year’s Thailand One Loft Race but only 377 of them managed to make it to the final race over 530km. Simply The Best (BE14-6175432) was the star of the race, winning the following prizes:

1e Asduif Thailand One Loft Race 2014
Winner Princess Cup
11th Final Race (530km)
1st Hotspot 2 (435km) against 953 p. (speed 963,50 m/m!)
20th Hotspot 1 (350km) against 1,159 p.

1st Olympiad Pigeon Cat H Nitra 2013

Mark Trzaska, one of Poland’s most successful fanciers, has won an impressive number of top results with his hen Gold Medal (PL-0264-09-8156):

1st prize (343km) against 5,442 p.
1st prize (365km) against 4,173 p.
2nd prize (365km) against 1,730 p.
3rd prize (365km) against 4,993 p.
3rd prize (514km) against 2,977 p.
9th prize (365km) against 4,582 p.

This makes Gold Medal the 1st Olympiad Pigeon of Nitra 2013 with the lowest coefficient in the whole of Europe! The sire of Gold Medal (PL-0264-09-8156) is a direct son of Special One (BE08-6144476); Special One is in turn a son of the exceptional breeder Barco (BE01-6387350).

Mr Zhu

The pigeons of the Vercammen loft have also performed really well in China, with Mr Zhu having won probably the highest amount of prize money that you can possibly win with a single pigeon. Mr. Zhu has also won three luxury cars thanks to this racing bird. The dam of this pigeon (BE12-6196238) is a 100% Jos Vercammen dam that won a 1st Dourdan (366km) against 2,489 pigeons as a young bird in Union Antwerp. The phenomenal breeder Barco (BE01-6387350) appears twice in her pedigree.

It goes without saying that the loft of Jos Vercammen has an impressive reputation at international level!
