The decision is final. Soon - starting Monday 19th December - the complete old bird racing team of one of the most complete long distance lofts in Belgium will be auctioned off on PIPA. All star racers from 2020 and older will be available (only the yearlings from 2021 are kept), in addition to several late youngsters from 2021 and summer youngsters from 2022 from the absolute best Jos and Jan Loobuyck from Aalter have to offer. This racing team has proven its class and dominance once again in 2022. Their competitors took some serious hits on the long distance and extreme long distance races. At the club - the strong Fondclub Eeklo - they managed to take one 1st prize after the other. At times, they seemed unbeatable, displaying superb results up to the national level.
In 2022, this resulted in 8x 1st Prize at the club - besides many top results up to the national level - on the national long distance and extreme long distance races. Moreover, they took the Provincial victory on Tulle against 2,010 yearlings with their latest super crack Zulu (after six days in the basket). This fantastic racer still was in super condition a week later (5th Nat. Brive 5,885 Yearlings), which led to him being crowned 1st Best Long Distance Yearling of Belgium in 2022 - across 2 races (PIPA Ranking). Whilst his loft mate Pax finished 9th National Ace Pigeon Long Distance KBDB 2022.
Winning
Winning...that is what the Loobuyck pigeons can guarantee. Not only on their own lofts, but elsewhere too. This is beautifully illustrated by colleague fancier Dirk Deroose, who won 1st National Souillac 4,476 Old birds in 2022. Mother of this national winner is a direct Loobuyck hen.
An important note is that these successes aren't won with quantity but quality, in other words: a 'small basket'. Performing every long distance race, ruling the results list, with only 2 up to a handful of pigeons basketed per race says everything about the performance ability of the Loobuyck pigeons. Their colony is founded on superior 1st prize winners, racing cracks and ace pigeons up to the national level. Pigeons that have proven to have 'it' in them. Breeding from winners and ace pigeons (especially on their own lofts), is where their foundation to success on long distance and extreme long distance races lie.
