Jelle Jellema raises 4,000 EURO on average for 35 young birds! Auction weekend closes at 354,175 EURO

8 auctions closed last Sunday, each of which is briefly discussed below. This weekend's highlight was the overall result of Jelle Jellema, who raised 140,100 EURO for 35 young birds.

Black Sea One Loft Race – 10 pigeons – 2,615 EURO/pigeon
The 5 most expensive pigeons in this auction have all been sold to China. The most expensive pigeon finished in 8th place in the final race and raised 7,200 EURO. The second most expensive pigeon won the final race and was sold for 5,200 EURO. The 10 pigeons raised 26,150 EURO and were sold to China (6), Germany (2), Taiwan (1) and Japan (1).

Eddy & Maarten Leutenez – 10 pigeons – 2,158 EURO/pigeon
After another successful racing season father & son Leutenez sold a fine selection of pigeons in auction. One of them was sale 4, an outstanding breeder and a direct Marc de Cock. He is the sire of a 4th Prov. Ace Pigeon YBs, and has been sold to China for 4,200 EURO, making him the second most expensive pigeon in this auction. The most expensive one was a late youngster of Rita (the dam of Bolleken) from 2015, which goes to Iraq for 4,600 EURO. The 10 pigeons raised 21,575 EURO and were sold to Belgium (1), Canada (1), The Philippines (1), Malasia (1), China (1), Iraq (1), and Japan (1).

DVV-Pigeons – 20 pigeons – 1,398 EURO/pigeon
The national champions of 2016 sold 20 pigeons, including some outstanding racing birds. The most expensive pigeon was sale 1 of part 1, racing hen Nicky. She goes to Taiwan for 4,200 EURO. The overall revenue for the 20 pigeons amounts to 27,950 EURO, and they were sold to Belgium (11), China (4), Taiwan (3), France (1) and The Netherlands (1).

Koen Minderhoud – 5 pigeons – 2,630 EURO/pigeon
This was a small but high quality auction, with for instance 2 youngsters of Geeloger paired to his own dam. They were also the two most expensive pigeons; one goes to China for 5,200 EURO, the other to Serbia for 3,400 EURO. The 5 youngsters raised 13,150 EURO in total and were sold to China (2), Serbia (1), The Netherlands (1) and Germany (1).

Roland & Guy Nihoul – 83 pigeons – 1,056 EURO/pigeon
In this auction we had all the breeding birds from 2010 to 2015, including a few pigeons sold in bis. The most expensive pigeons were the first pair sold in bis, which included Le Bossu (1st National Narbonne 2014), which goes to a renowned Belgian loft for 17,200 EURO. The 83 pigeons were sold for 87,675 EURO, to fanciers from Belgium (30), France (11), Taiwan (11), Japan (8), Portugal (7), China (6), Germany (4), The United Kingdom (2), Morocco (1), The Philippines (1), Poland (1) and Sweden (1).

Big Andy One Loft Race – 10 pigeons – 1,848 EURO/pigeon
The winners of the final race of the first Big Andy's One Loft Race were sold in auction. The most expensive pigeon was the winner of the final race, and was purchased for 4,600 EURO by its original owner and breeder of the pigeon, the Canadian Tony Alves. The second most expensive pigeon finished 4th in the final race and goes to the USA for 3,400 EURO. The 10 pigeons raised 18,475 EURO and will be going to Canada (3), China (3), the USA (2), Ireland (1), and the United Kingdom (1).

Elzinga Jouke & Tjeerd – 10 pigeons – 1,910 EURO/pigeon
The pigeon breed based around super class hen Esmee of father & son Elzinga is growing to become an internationally renowned loft. In this auction we had 1 youngster of Esmee and several of her grandchildren. The youngster was sold to a Chinese fancier for 7,600 EURO. The 10 youngsters raised 19,100 EURO. Most pigeons were sold to Asia: China (4), Taiwan (3), The Netherlands (2) and Germany (1).

Jelle Jellema – 35 pigeons – 4,003 EURO/pigeon
This weekend's highlight was the auction of 35 young birds of Jelle Jellema. Their parents had been paired specially for this occasion, with a few top class breeders being paired to their sire or dam. The result was a very interesting group of pigeons that attracted many fanciers. The 35 young birds were sold for an impressive 140,100 EURO. The most expensive pigeon was a youngster of New Laureaat x Kleine Jade, which goes to Belgium for 13,800 EURO. The second most expensive pigeon was another youngster of Kleine Jade, now paired to her own son, the winner of a 3rd Nat. Perpignan this season. This youngster goes to The Netherlands for 7,600 EURO. The third most expensive pigeon is a youngster of Evi, which goes to Japan for 7,000 EURO. The 35 youngsters were sold to The Netherlands (14), Belgium (7), Japan (3), Taiwan (3), The United Kingdom (3), Spain (2), Poland (1), Romania (1), and the USA (1).
