An impressive Adrie Kors (Steenwijkerwold, NL) wins two first places in a row

Many fanciers are still struggling to get their pigeons in shape, but grandmaster Adrie Kors from Steenwijkerwold is already in a winning mood with two victories in the space of two weeks with the fastest pigeon of province 11 Friesland.

The first two prizes:

  • 05/05/2012: 1st Pommeroeul against 18,753 pigeons
  • 12/05/2012: 1st Boxtel against 12,838 pigeons

The winner from Pommeroeuil (308km) was NL11-4227756. This magnificent blue hen was victorious in a very difficult race, flying at a speed of 978 m/m. Adrie’s latest star previously excelled as a youngster, winning for instance 2nd from St. Quentin against 293 pigeons. This pigeon comes from a successful family, as her father was the winner of three first prizes against an average of 1,450 pigeons. It is a full brother of ‘Leontien’, which won no less than 10 first prizes against an average of 3,500 pigeons. The mother of NL11-4222756 is a direct daughter of Olympiade from Heremans.

The top-class hen NL09-1102428 took the victory from Boxtel (143km), where she was basketed as the first nominated bird. She has also won 1st provincial against 12,828 pigeons with a speed of 1,315 m/m. The father of this hen is ‘Rock a Billy' (comb. Den Haan) and stems from a son of ‘613’ from De Klak x a granddaughter of ‘Afgekeurde’ from the Janssen brothers. The mother of NL09-1102428 is a direct hen from Pieter Veenstra, which is a daughter of Zoon Superkweker x Amira.

It seems that the loft of Adrie Kors is all ready for the one-day middle distance NPO races starting on 26 May. After his two convincing victories, he is the man to beat.
