Hans & Evert-Jan
Together, Hans and his son Evert-Jan have been actively involved in the sport for over a century. They share a great passion for pigeon racing, and their common goal is to breed what Evert-Jan describes as the very best pigeon breed worldwide. They are willing to do everything it takes to achieve that goal, which means they invested in several top quality pigeons. The purchase of Nieuwe Olympiade at the total auction of Leo Heremans (Vorsselaar, BE) in 2013 illustrates that they spare no effort. Hans and Evert-Jan are very pleased with the level of performance of their Eijerkamp pigeons, and the many references from pigeon fanciers from all around the world make them very proud. The Eijerkamp pigeon breed has been very successful in no less than five different continents.

He proved an excellent breeder, as the sire of Shilpa (1st NPO North Orléans 2007 5,164 p.) and as the grandfather of the national champion young birds NPO 2011 (Van Panhuis combination). Hans and Evert-Jan were able to obtain almost all of the great names of this Belgian top class loft, including Euro, Jackpot and Rossi. Jackpot then became the sire of Olympic Vivian, the pigeon that represented The Netherlands in the sports category of the Nitra 2013 Olympiad, where she finished in third in the middle distance. This season it was Jackpot’s granddaughter Claudine that gained a lot of attention.

New introductions
Even the best lofts have to continue developing. The Eijerkamp family has managed to add another invaluable pigeon to their collection by obtaining BE10-6146101 Nieuwe Olympiade. His daughter, which was a gift for Evert-Jan’s 50th birthday, is the dam of NL12-1231150 Cherie (1st Ace Pigeon Natour Region 4 in 2014). This illustrates that Nieuwe Olympiade is a perfect match for the old Eijerkamp bloodlines. Ché is also a grandfather of Cherie. From 2012 onwards, the Eijerkamp fanciers made regular trips to Belgium to further strengthen their breed. This time they visited the loft of Stefaan Lambrechts, whose direct pigeons have proved their potential in the racing loft. One of these pigeons was 2nd provincial ace pigeon middle distance 201114 BE13-6304137 Esther.
To conclude
The many references and thank letters are a culmination of a carefully thought out breeding strategy. The many provincial and national first prizes, NPO wins and Olympiad pigeons prove that the Eijerkamp family is close to completing their mission. Not convinced yet?
