Gino and Jasper Clicque: a great combination
Not quite a sabbatical
We still vividly remember March 2017, when grandmaster Gino Clicque sold his entire pigeon collection (except for the pigeons from 2016 and 2017) in a major auction hosted by PIPA. The fantastic Golden Prince was sold to a South African pigeon loft for a record amount. With Gino getting rid of his best breeding and racing birds, even the most optimistic fanciers did not expect him to be back in the game so quickly. But he surprised us all with a great 2017 season. And 2018 could best be described as the perfect season, with an astounding list achievements. Let's have a look:
17 X top 10 National
31 X top 20 National
55 X top 50 National
82 X top 100 National
43 X 1st prize
6 X 1st Provincial
69 X top 10 Provincial
And their (championship) titles speak volumes as well:
1st National Champion Extreme Long Distance and Long Distance Yearlings KBDB 2018 1st National Chateauroux II 13,086 yearlings with GOLDEN DEVIL National Ace Pigeon Extr. Long Distance & Long Distance YL KBDB 2018: 1st-2nd-6th-10th-14th National Ace Pigeon Longer Middle Distance Olds KBDB 2018: 1st-11th-13th National Ace Pigeon Longer Middle Distance Yearlings KBDB 2018: 12th
This makes for nine national ace pigeons in a single season! We listed them all below (click on their names for their respective pedigrees).
An impressive palmares since 2008
This team has seen an impressive 22 pigeons claim a national ace pigeon title KBDB since 2008. In addition, they have won as many as 52 top 10 places national since 2010! They had 24 pigeons finish in the top five, with four pigeons winning a 1st national, and one bird taking a 1st International. We cannot think of many fanciers with such a remarkable palmares. As you know, their superstar Golden Prince and its fantastic descendants have played a fundamental role. And Piraat has proven to be an excellent breeding bird as well. Almost every racing bird in the team of Gino Clicque is related to either Golden Prince or Piraat, if not to both of them.

It looks like the loft in Wevelgem is home to nothing but top quality birds. They do have a remarkable collection of top class descendants of Golden Prince, arguably one of Belgium's most valuable pigeons. And let's not forget the other top class bloodlines of this loft: Piraat, Pacha, etc. This is a top-tier racing and breeding team, home to several national ace pigeon winners and national and provincial winners.
