Conclusion

Gerard Koopman has become an iconic name in our sport. He had well defined goals from the very beginning: he wanted to become an exceptional fancier, if possible the most successful of all. He learned a lot from his mentor Louis van Loon (Poppel, NL) and quickly became a fancier with an impressive palmares. The result was a homemade Koopman pigeon breed consisting of pigeons with great willpower and the determination to take the lead in races from 100 to 800km.
