Derby Arona – 92 pigeons – 1,230 euro/bird
PIPA has been working together closely with the Deby Arona One Loft Race Tenerife for several years now. All the winners and ace pigeons were now sold in auction, raising 113,200 euro in total. The most expensive pigeon was the 3rd place winner in the final, bred by the PEC, and sold to Romania for 10,600 euro. The second most expensive pigeon and winner of a 2nd place in the final is the Slovakian racing bird "Super 07", which goes to China for 7,400 euro. The 92 pigeons will be spread across 16 countries: China (28), the USA (18), the United Kingdom (10), Belgium (7), Taiwan (7), Hungary (4), Germany (3), Malaysia (3), Romania (3), Columbia (2), Slovakia (2), Spain (1), France (1), Norway (1), Poland (1), and South Africa (1).
Gevaert-Lannoo – 16 pigeons – 1,425 euro/bird
The Gevaert-Lannoo pigeon loft is often referred to as a small team with big achievements. They sold 16 youngsters of their best breeders for 22,800 euro in total. The most expensive young bird was a youngster of King Gaby, which goes to China for 3,800 euro. The 16 youngsters were sold to China (8), Belgium (5), Germany (1), Egypt (1) and Thailand (1).
Annick Goeteyn – 6 pigeons – 1,108 euro/bird
Annick had a strong start to the 2019 season, thanks to a promising new generation of champions. A number of their youngsters were sold in auction, along with a youngster of the old stock breeder Orlando. This bird was in fact the most expensive pigeon in auction; it was sold to a Belgian fancier for 2,000 euro. The remaining 5 pigeons go to Belgium (3), China (1) and Taiwan (1).
Pieter Oberholster – 8 pigeons – 1,994 euro/bird
Pieter Oberholster owns arguably one of the most impressive collections of Gaby Vandenabeele pigeons in Western Europe, including a son of Bliksem and 15 youngsters of Rudy. These pigeons bred 8 youngsters that were sold for an average of just under 2,000 euro, or 15,950 euro overall. The most expensive youngster was sale 1, a grandchild of Bliksem, which was sold to Taiwan for 5,200 euro. The 8 pigeons are moving to Belgium (2), Japan (2), China (2), Taiwan (1) and Germany (1).
Jelle Jellema – 11 pigeons – 3,191 euro/bird
Jelle Jellema has had some fantastic seasons, and this was a great opportunity for him to auction a group of youngsters from his best racing birds for the first time. The 11 young birds were sold for an impressive 35,100 euro overall. The most expensive youngster was a daughter of the new superstar Rena, which goes to Belgium for 6,000 euro. The second most expensive pigeon is a son of Joyce, a direct daughter of Kleine Jade and a promising one year old with an 8th Nat. Agen to her name. This son of Joyce goes to Germany for 4,000 euro. The 11 youngsters will be moving to the following countries: Belgium (3), China (2), Japan (2), the Czech Republic (1), The Netherlands (1), and Taiwan (1).
Jan Kuijzer – 25 pigeons – 2,386 euro/bird
For years, Jan Kuijzer has been one of the men to beat in the sprint and the middle distance. Jan has now decided to put an end to his pigeon racing career due to circumstances, and he contacted PIPA to offer for sale his pigeon collection. This small but potent group was sold for 59,650 euro. The most expensive birds were Ted, 1st Prov. Ace Pigeon young birds and Daughter Hunter, a terrific breeding hen. They were sold for 6,200 euro each. The 25 pigeons were sold to Taiwan (12), China (11), Morocco (1) and the United States (1).
Kas & Karel Meijers – 8 pigeons – 866 euro/bird
Kas & Karel Meijers have had a marvellous season, with most notably a ticket to the Poland Olympiad with their Olympic Nicole. The most expensive youngster in this auction was a son of Olympic Nicole, which goes to Germany for 1,800 euro. The 8 pigeons were sold for 6,925 euro, to fanciers from Germany (3), France (2), Egypt (1), Ireland (1) and Taiwan (1).
Jelle Roziers – 6 pigeons – 4,200 euro/bird
This was a limited auction with six special youngsters of Jelle Roziers, bred exclusively from highly renowned birds. A direct youngster of New Queen L, 1st Nat. Ace Pigeon KBDB young birds middle distance, was sold to a Chinese fancier for 5,800 euro. The 6 youngsters were sold for 25,200 euro, and they are going to China (2), the United Kingdom (2), Taiwan (1) and the United States (1).
May Auction – 22 pigeons – 3,069 euro/bird
In this May auction we auctioned 22 pigeons that had not been paid for in previous PIPA auctions. As is often the case, most pigeons had a higher price tag compared to the original auction. Take for example Cees of Joel Verschoot, who was sold to the United Kingdom for 20,000 euro, which is twice the original sale price. It makes Cees the most expensive bird in this May Auction. The overall revenue for the 22 pigeons is 67,525 euro, and they were sold to fanciers from the United Kingdom (4), Taiwan (3), China (3), Germany (2), Belgium (2), India (2), Iraq (1), Morocco (1), The Netherlands (1), Romania (1), Singapore (1) and the United States (1).
Arpad Sudicki – 2 pigeons – 3,700 euro/bird
No more than two pigeons were sold in this auction but they were both quite special: two Olympiad Pigeons from Serbia, sold for 3,800 and 3,600 euro respectively, or 7,400 euro in total. The two pigeons were sold to the same fancier from Kuwait.
