Auction weekend comes to a close: Dehon-Demonseau (BE) raise 5,111 euro/bird, T&J Elzinga (NL) 3,113 euro/bird

The following auctions closed on Sunday 16th of February: Stef Bals (NL), Vermeerbergen-Wilms (BE), Martial Maindrelle (FR), T&J Elzinga (NL), Gino Clicque (BE), Dehon-Demonseau (BE), Team Noël-Willockx (BE), Candotti-Trunet (BE), Jos Thoné (BE) & Rik Cools (BE).

Stef Bals (NL) - 9 pigeons - 2,244 euro/bird
Stef had reserved his provincial champion middle distance for this auction. Yara was 17th national ace pigeon middle distance, and also the most expensive bird in this collection, moving to China for 5,600 euro. Interested buyers could also obtain a carefully selected group of young birds, including Stef's favourite bird, which was also the most wanted pigeon: this young bird was sold to a Dutchman for 2,200 euro. The pigeons were sold to fanciers from Denmark (2), The Netherlands (2), the United States (1), Belgium (1), China (1), Taiwan (1) and France (1).

Vermeerbergen-Wilms (BE) - 12 pigeons - 1,567 euro/bird
A varied collection of pigeons from this Belgian combination was sold for 18,800 euro overall. Supter Kittel Grizzle took the crown, with a sale price of 5,000 euro. He was sold to a fellow Belgian fancier. The remaining 11 birds went to Belgium (6), China (2), Slovakia (2) and Great Britain (1).

Martial Maindrelle (FR) - 10 pigeons - 925 euro/bird
The most prominent name among the ten pigeons of Martial Maindrelle was first prize winner Deep Impact, which was also the most expensive bird: 1,600 euro. The pigeons were sold for 9,250 euro overall, and they are moving to China (3), Belgium (2), Hungary (2), the United States (2) and Germany (1).

T&J Elzinga (NL) - 16 pigeons - 3,113 euro/bird
Esmee Special

Most of you will already know that Tjeerd and Jouke have created a tremendous pigeon family, and they have one particularly gifted pigeon in their collection: Prince Esmee. Many fanciers were looking to invest in descendants of Esmee and/or Prince Esmee. The pigeons were sold for 49,800 euro overall, to fanciers from The Netherlands (3), Kuwait (3), Taiwan (3), Germany (2), Great Britain (2), China (1), Romania (1) and The Philippines (1).

Gino Clicque (BE) - 32 pigeons - 1,878 euro/bird
Youngsters of his best breeders

All eyes were on a direct son of Golden Prince, Belgium's national ace pigeon of Belgium from 2014. This light chequered blue racing cock will soon get to prove himself in Turkey. He was the most expensive pigeon with a sale price of 12,000 euro. The auction's overall revenue amounted to 60,100 euro, and the new owners come from Belgium (7), China (7), Japan (4), Germany (3), Turkey (2), Romania (2), Sovakia (2), Canada (1), Poland (1) and Thailand (2).

Dehon-Demonseau (BE) - 9 pigeons - 5,111 euro/bird
This renowned combination has had an incredible rise to the top in a short period of time! The big star of this team, Best Kittel, moved over to PIPA breeding. The stock breeders were kept on board, and their descendants excelled again in 2019! The combination had an impressive 5,111 euro average sale price for their auction. They sold two youngsters of their sprint champion Daniël, and they were both sold for 7,000 euro. But the pigeon with the highest winning bid was Father Shakira, which was sold for 10,200 euro. This bird will be an excellent investment for the new owner from Hungary. The pigeons were sold to fanciers from Hungary (2), Germany (2), Canada (1), China (1), Great Britain (1), Poland (1) and Romania (1).

Etienne Meirlaen (BE) - 20 pigeons - 1,903 euro/bird
Etienne's long distance pigeons were sold for 38,050 euro overall, resulting in an average sale price of 1,903 euro/bird. The most expensive bird was Provincial Diamond 210, which goes to Taiwan for 4,800 euro, along with four other birds of this collection. The other fanciers come from Belgium (3), The Philippines (3), China (3), Spain (2), Romania (2), Germany (1), Poland (1) and the United States (1).

Team Noël-Willockx (BE) - 6 pigeons - 1,708 euro/bird
The Gargenton x Anouk breeding pair has produced many talented birds, including the light chequered blueband cock Castro. Eddy and Ivan decided to sell this provincial first prize winner, along with a generation of pigeons from 2019. Castro was the pigeon with the highest winning bid; he was sold to a Chinese fancier for 3,800 euro. The other pigeons will soon be on their way to Belgium (3), China (1), the United Arab Emirates (1) and the United States (1).

Candotti-Trunet (FR) - 7 pigeons - 1,414 euro/bird
El Torro is a terrific yellow-eyed pigeon that combines many of Belgium's best bloodlines. He was the most expensive pigeon of the lot; he went to China for 4,600 euro. The overall revenue for this auction was 9,900 euro; the pigeons were sold to fanciers from Belgium (3), Taiwan (2), China (1) and The Philippines (1).

Jos Thoné (BE) - 14 pigeons - 1,339 euro/bird
This Avril Special of Jos consisted of 14 mostly white descendants of Olympiade Gigant, which is the winner of an impressive 20 first prizes. The star of this auction was Avril 745; he was sold to a fancier from the United States for 3,800 euro. The remaining 13 pigeons will be moving to China (4), Belgium (2), The Netherlands (2), Germany (1), Ireland (1), Italy (1), Poland (1) and Taiwan (1).

Rik Cools (BE) - 6 pigeons - 1,375 euro/bird
Rik Cools had a spectacular season, and he picked six top class pigeons for this PIPA auction. The auction was quite a success, with an average sale price of 1,375 euro/bird and a total revenue of 8,250 euro. The buyers come from Taiwan (4), Belgium (1) and Japan (1).
