Rudi De Saer (Ruiselede, BE) has a collection of world class pigeons

This team claimed no less than four national victories between 2012 and 2015, with an average of one win per season. 2016 has been a year without a national victory for Rudi De Saer, but it has been another great season nonetheless. There is a whole lot of talent in his breeding and racing team, and this leads to impressive results every single week.

A phenomenal long distance fancier

We have been taking a detailed look at Rudi's palmares of the past five seasons, and we were genuinely impressed with the achievements of this team in such a short time span, from 2012 to 2016. Let's take a quick glance:

1st Nat. Limoges II 8.303 p. 2015 with Favoriet
1st Nat. Cahors 7.136 p. 2014 with New Tours
1st Nat. Limoges 13.789 p. 2012 with New Jens
1st Nat. Souillac 7.756 p. 2012 with Antonio
1st Nat. Champion Long Distance Old Birds KBDB 2014
1st Nat. Champion Long Distance Old Birds KBDB 2010
2nd Nat. Champion Long Distance Old Birds KBDB 2009
2nd Nat. Ace Pigeon Long Distance Old Birds KBDB 2015
2nd Nat. Limoges I 18,390 p. 2014 with Favoriet

One of the reasons this team has been so successful was Rudi's decision to never sell his best pigeons. His four national winners were granted a spot in the breeding loft, where they developed into top class breeding birds. With Favoriet's transfer from the racing to the breeding loft in 2015, there appeared to be something missing in the racing team. Fortunately a new team of exceptional yearlings sprang up, turning 2016 into another splendid season.

BE11-3123742 Favoriet, 1st National Limoges 2015, 2nd National Limoges 2014 and 2nd National Ace Pigeon Long Distance KBDB 2015

It would not make sense to write a report about this loft without briefly talking about the number one star of this team. It is safe to say that Favoriet belongs to a select group of worlds class pigeons, having been able to win two top five placings in a national race and 7 national top 100 prizes, usually with a velocity of less than 1,300 m/min. His palmares is nothing short of impressive, with some particularly great results from Limoges:

1st National Limoges II in 2015 of 8,303 pigeons
2nd National Limoges I in 2014 of 18,390 pigeons
17th National Limoges II in 2014 of 7,221 pigeons
40th National Chateauroux in 2012 of 15,902 pigeons
41st National Souillac in 2013 of 5,282 pigeons
69th National Tulle in 2013 of 7,350 pigeons
84th National Brive in 2015 of 8,674 pigeons
161st Natioaal Limoges I in 2015 of 15,009 pigeons
172nd Natioaal Argenton in 2012 of 22,384 pigeons
2nd National Ace Pigeon Long Distance KBDB 2015

Favoriet is a 100% Gaby Vandenabeele based on the world class lines of Wittenbuik, Kolonel, Kleinen, Bliksem and Kleinen. His grandmother is stock dam Tgoedje, which is also the dam of Antonio (1st National Souillac), New Tours (1st National Cahors), Tours (1st National champion), Bleken (4th National Ace Pigeon Long Distance KBDB), and Close (4th National Tulle). Click here for the pedigree of Favoriet.

The three other national winners

The other national winners are great racing birds with a proven record as well. Let's have a look:

BE10-3020802 New Tours,1st National Cahors

This champion managed to win six national top 100 prizes, including four top 20 placings:

1st National Cahors in 2014 of 7,136 pigeons
6th National Limoges in 2011 of 14,679 pigeons
10th National Souillac in 2013 of 5,282 pigeons
18th National Limoges in 2012 of 13,781 pigeons
81st National Brive in 2012 of 11,130 pigeons
87th National Argenton in 2011 of 19,782 pigenos
176th National Limoges in 2014 of 18,390 pigeons
214th National Cahors in 2012 of 8,348 pigeons

Like we said, New Tours is a direct son of stock dam Tgoedje, arguably one of the best long distance breeding hens worldwide. New Tours is a full brother of Antonio, another national winner in this loft. The impressive peidgree of New Tours can be found here.

BE10-3020860 Antonio, 1st National Souillac

The team's third national winner is thus a full brother of New Tours. He took a convincing national first prize from Souillac of 7,756 pigeons with a five minute lead. These are his other top results:

41st Provincial Chateauroux of 3,486 pigeons
204th National Limoges of 13,781 pigeons
142nd National Cahors of 8,348 pigeons

He is a son of Tgoedje, the stock dam of Rudi De Saer, which shows he has an excellent pedigree. Click here for Antonio's full pedigree.

BE10-3020896 New Jens, 1st National Limoges

And then there is New Jens, who won a national first prize from Limoges of 13,788 pigeons in 2012 with an impressive 10 minute lead. This talented racing bird claimed a first prize from Arras and two wins from Ablis as well.

The sire of New Jens is a direct Gino Clique (Wevelgem, BE), which is also the grandfather of a 5th National Ace Pigeon Long Distance KBDB 2016. The dam is another 100% Gaby Vandenabeele. Click here for his pedigree.

A world class breed ready to excel in 2017

The lofts in Ruiselede are home to a world class pigeon collection indeed. With such a talented group of breeders and racing birds it would be safe to assume that 2017 will be another great season for them. We are eager to see what this exceptional pigeon team has in store this year; we will see you again in a few month's time, at the start of the new racing season.
