Provincial victory for the partnership Casaert-Sénéchal (Russeignies, BE) from Bourges!

After their first national victory won last year, it's now the first significative victory won this year by the Casaert-Sénéchal loft.

The Casaert-Sénéchal team.

Like it was for the national race from Châteauroux, the interprovincial race from Bourges (Région Wallonne - French speaking part of Belgium) has been held on Friday 10th of June instead of the saturday and this was because of the weather conditions. The pigeons were released at 08h15 while the wind was blowing from the east/north east. It wasn't a surprise to find a pigeon from Casaert-Sénéchal ahead of the race. Clocked at 13h51''46 for a distance of 1.228 m/min, the winning pigeon, a yearling hen christened Bruxelles, finally won the provincial victory. At the interprovincial result combining the pigeon from the province of Hainaut & Brabant Wallon, she has a comfortable lead against the 2,285 pigeons. In the general result, she is however beaten by the pigeon of François Michaux (1.238 m/min).

For this race, a very limited team had been basketed: two old birds & four yearlings. It didn't prevent this small team having a fantastic result:

Bourges regional - 183 old birds: 9, 15 (2/2)
        regional - 311 yl: 1, 9, 17 (3/4)
        EPR - 1,725 old birds: 62, 103 (2/2)
        EPR - 2,285 yl: 1, 44, 102 (3/4)
        Reg Wal - 3,137 old birds: 95, 181 (2/2)
        Reg Wal - 3,996 yl: 2, 78, 187 (3/4)

Let's meet the winning hen from Bourges. It's a hen born during the spring of 2015 which means she wasn't basketed last year. This year however, she was intensively trained to ensure she gained as much experience as possible. It's the first time she was basketed for a race from Bourges and the least we can say is that she didn't deceive her manager. She had been paired in April and raised a youngster until the baby was 8 days old, after which the widowhood started.

When you check her pedigree, you will notice she was bred from the most famous breeding lines of the colony.
Her father is a son of Rodeo' (father of Nikolaas 1st National Ace Pigeon KBDB 2013) paired a full sister of the infamous Amalia (1st National Ace Pigeon KBDB 2011).
Her mother is a hen of Bernard Van Renterghem from Pipaix (100% Roodhoft) and is a granddaughter of his basic pair that you can find back on several national ace pigeons & olympic pigeons.

Hugo

The season 2016 was also the time of a big change for the Casaert-Sénéchal team: it was the grand premiere of Hugo Casaert who is now racing under his own name. As he is now taking care of a lot of things in the daily management and being also fond of the international race, it was decided to take his first licence so that he will be able to compete in the international races with his own pigeons in the coming years. At the same time, the Casaert-Sénéchal colony will continue to enter their birds in the races of 300-600 kilometres. It didn't prevent Hugo starting his career well! After several good results in the first middle distance races, Hugo booked a wonderful performance in the interprovincial race from Vierzon the 15th of May. He won indeed the 3rd interprovincial against 6,422 old pigeons and furthermore the 58th, 191th & 333th prize, winning at the same time a nice 100% with 4 prizes from 4 pigeons basketed, all per 10! We will come back on the results of Hugo in another report but you can however have a look to the pedigree of his first clocked from Vierzon which is a pigeon bred by his father: click here to check the pedigree of Romelu.

Congratulations on this fantastic victory and good luck for the rest of the season!
