Bart Geerinckx (Wommelgem, BE) wins 1st Prov. Libourne olds

The Geerinckx pigeon family delivers another exceptional performance, winning a 1-3-4 Provincial and 5-15-18 National in Libourne with the first three nominated of a total of five pigeons.

It is no secret that the Geerinckx pigeons are world class players in the longer middle distance and the light long distance. We are all familiar with the renowned bloodlines of Wittekop Sylvester, Willyke and Gladiator. The late Luc Geerinckx (Bart's father) helped develop the pigeon breed that rose to worldwide fame. It was thanks to this breed that his son Bart and his teammate Jurgen became a renowned team, winning national races and championship titles, as well as national ace pigeon titles and Olympiad titles. This breed has steadily expanded its sphere of influence worldwide, leading to great results in pigeon lofts across the globe. Bart successfully took over the loft after his father died, delivering great results, maintaining a similar breeding strategy and taking care of the further development of the breed.

This is the start of a new chapter in the Geerinckx success story, and it begins with a provincial victory in the old birds' race from Libourne (with the the Geerinckx birds covering 786.554km).

1-3-4 Provincial Libourne olds

This is another great achievement from the Geerinckx racing birds. It was in fact Bart's first nominated Queen James that took home the provincial first prize. This racing hen was successful in the closing long distance race from Tulle one week later as well, where she claimed a 7th Provincial. She is a wonderful athlete bred from two renowned Geerinckx breeders:

It has been demonstrated repeatedly that the Geerinckx pigeons combine really well with other renowned lines as well. Think of Benny Steveninck winning a national first prize from Limoges (a 50% Geerinckx pigeon) and Team ADK claiming a national victory from Bourges in 2016, along with several provincial first prizes in 2017.

And Bart is always looking around for high quality pigeons that can be used to reinforce his existing family. He co-owns one of the most renowned pigeons in recent generations in terms of racing and breeding potential: New Freddy, 1st Nat. Ace Pigeon Extreme Long Distance KBDB 2010. Bart has been more than happy with this breeding bird. The pigeons that won a 3rd and 4th Provincial are in fact two direct sons of New Freddy paired to two top class breeding hens from his own breed. Here is a closer look at the two prize winners:
