A great season
2017 has been another fantastic season for Jo Bauters. His racing bird Ellis became 1st National Ace Pigeon longer middle distance (LMD) YBs KBDB in 2016, and he won a 5th National Ace Pigeon title LMD YBs KBDB in 2017 with Eria, another renowned racing bird. Both Ellis and Eria are related to top breeder Fabian, who is indeed an invaluable breeding bird. Fabian showed to be an excellent racing bird, winning a 1st National Poitiers (12,379 p.) and a 1st Provincial Bourges (2,473 p.). And he would turn out to be even more talented in the breeding loft. Jo has had several generations of renowned racing birds in his collection, and 90% of them are closely related to this very breeder. Zone Chateauroux 1,015 p. and 6th Nat. Zone Bourges 1,751 p.). The dam of Ellis is Ester, and she is a daughter of Noah x Naomi, which are also the grandparents of Stybar. The pigeon that claimed another ace pigeon title for Jo is yet again a descendant of Fabian. The dam of this ace pigeon (Eria) is Nora, and she is a granddaughter of Fabian. Fabian leads to many great results
The decision not to sell Fabian after his national victory but to move him to the breeding loft instead has proven a very smart move: Fabian quickly developed into a truly outstanding breeding bird, delivering numerous talented birds, especially when paired to Ellis and others. And many other pigeon lofts have been getting great results with the bloodlines of Fabian as well. Click here for an overview of Fabian's many references. We noticed that almost all of Jo's results in the early 2018 season have been won with pigeons related to either Fabian or Ellis. Eria claimed a 5th of 721 yearlings last Saturday 5th of May, with Hera, a sister of Ellis, finishing in 35th place. And 14 out of 37 pigeons won a prize 1 per 10. That same day, 18 out of 57 old birds won a prize 1 per 10 of 932 pigeons. These results will give the team the confidence they need to tackle the more demanding races later on.
